Great location and good value
Pros:

The food was amazing and the bar was good

Cons:

The bed was awful so hard and creaky and felt like I was going to roll out of it ! Needs changing

Very convenient overnight accomodation with good choice and service in restuarant
Pros:

Excellent choice and quality of breakfast.
Room overlooking main street so early morning noise plus curtains didn't make room dark, but other people might like that!

Staff accommodating and comfy bed.
Pros:

Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Bed comfortable and we both slept well. Good inclusive breakfast and evening meal was delicious. Bedroom clean.

Cons:

The power points were poorly placed in the bedroom and very worn making usb connections difficult. New sockets are needed and furniture needs to be moved about a bit. May be ok in other rooms.

The restaurant doesn’t open on a Sunday evening
Pros:

We were given a really characteristic room up in the eaves

Cons:

We had requested to reserve a table at 7pm and when we arrived we were advised they didn’t get messages from Booking.com and in fact their restaurant wasn’t open on Sunday evenings.
Breakfast was disappointing, no fruit, yogurt etc.

Convenient for my needs and no disappointment.
Pros:

Breakfast and dinner were good and well served.

Cons:

Stair carpet to rooms dirty and well trodden. No easy electric plug for the kettle except on the floor. A clicking noise a lot of each night in room 4 , heating, water or something else?
More car parking spaces taken up with picnic tables.

I would have no hesitation in staying here again if I am in the area.
Pros:

I arrived earlier than expected and, not only didn't they mind, they bent over backwards to get me a parking space alongside the hotel, showed me to my room and gave me a useful description of shops and other places in the vicinity. The room I was given was beautiful. Bedroom and bathroom spotless. While I was there the road outside was closed for roadworks with diversion in place, so there was no traffic and it was very quiet.

A lot of money for what it is
Pros:

Right in town

Cons:

Need bits fixing broken floor tile 2 beds put together so you fall through middle shower fills up with water so you cannot have a long shower
Wall are paper thin could here people next door

Pros:

Location. History and the overall feel. The staff was great . Very helpful. Ann in the breakfast room was so friendly seemed interested in what are plans were. Made suggestions for us and helped us with our early morning departure.
