La Fortuna Lodge

Excellent location with views of Mount Arenal from some rooms. Close to the central square and many restaurants and other amenities.
Rooms are basic but have all the essentials. The breakfast was reasonably good. The choices could be improved.
Staff is very helpful and courteous.
A special mention about Mariella at the front desk who went above and beyond to help us with making activity bookings of our choice at a short notice. She also followed up after our excursions and made helpful suggestions.

My sister and I really loved our stay here. The hotel is affordable, clean and quiet. The view from the balcony is incredible. The staff is extremely nice and helpful. They answered all our questions and helped us find activities gave us recs in town. Breakfast is amazing and delicious. You should stay here and skip the hostels.

The rooms are very cute and provided wirh the amenities we needed, the beds super comfortable, very soft and we had a great sleep, super nice hot shower and internet is perfect. The room had a little balcony with a beautiful view of the Arenal Volcano 😍, definitely a plus.
They offer 4 different options for breakfast and it was delicious 😋.
Conveniently located at around 2 blocks from town, makes it easy for us to walk to restaurants, coffee shops, supermarkets and all kind of other stores. The place where the hotel is located is very safe and clean.
The staff is very friendly and helpful, providing us with all the information we needed for the area, we can't thanks them enough for the way they welcome us to La Fortuna.
We would stay at this hotel again every time we visit La Fortuna / Arenal.

What a authentic and cute place with all the professonalism of a big chain. Rooms are comfortable, clean, I had an amazing view on my terrace towards the volcano. Staff ts super friendly and helpful. They made me vegan breakfast, what was so good. Recommend this place for sure

Atmosphere: Cozy and welcoming, we immediately felt comfortable.
Rooms: Very clean; our first room was small, but the staff kindly moved us to a larger, spacious one once available.
Value: Excellent value for money considering the service and location.
Cleanliness: Everything was spotless and well maintained.
Noise level: In our first room there was some morning noise from the nearby kitchen, but after moving to the new room it was completely quiet and very peaceful.
Service: Super friendly and helpful staff — they made our stay even better.
Amenities: Good facilities and a perfect location close to everything.

Overall, we had a great experience and highly recommend this hotel!

The location in the heart of La Fortuna town is a winner! It’s also in an intimate neighborhood setting. It’s perfectly clean. Very well kept as you’ll see in the photos. Front desk staff always with a smile. Breakfast was made to order and good. Typical Costa Rican and familiar options. Small portion but filling. Ask for more if you wish.

Safe area. Walk out to the Main Street day or night.

Nicely appointed. Rooms are well cared for. Staff was very courteous and accomodating. Many open air spaces with comfortable seating on both floors.

We had a great stay (4 nights) at the La Fortuna Lodge. The Room was clean, the view was great and the hotel was located near the Centrum. The staff was very helpful and gave some advises regarding trips etc. Special thanks to Daniel. We can totally recommend the place.

I really enjoyed my stay at La Fortuna Lodge. Mariela, Daniel, Josué and all the staff are lovely people, attentive, kind, and knowledgeable. I have some food restrictions and they were able to accommodate a delicious breakfast for me. I felt like I could ask them anything and they were willing to help. I stayed in La Fortuna for 10 days, alternating tourism and work, and couldn't have picked a better place. The hotel is clean, well-maintained, the room I stayed in had everything I needed - even the soap are made of natural and local ingredients. Muchísimas gracias equipo, les deseo lo mejor!

Internet was fast and reliable. Bed and pillows were very comfortable. But above all else, the staff were amazing and helpful

Wonderful Stay with Outstanding Service, 2nd visit this year.

Our stay was nice, quiet, and peaceful. The customer service—especially from Daniel and the rest of the staff—was excellent. I truly appreciated their attentiveness and responsiveness.

I had a small incident where I accidentally left my sweater behind as we were checking out. To my surprise and appreciation, the staff reached out to let me know and held it for me until I could retrieve it. That level of care really stood out.

The rooms were clean, the daily breakfast was great, and the cooks did a fantastic job. Overall, it was a very pleasant experience. We definitely look forward to staying here again in the future.

I had a great experience at this hotel! The room was a bit small, but it was extremely clean and well-maintained, which made it very comfortable.

The location is excellent—right in the heart of La Fortuna’s downtown. It’s super convenient to walk to restaurants, shops, and tour pickup points. You really can’t beat the access!

At night, the sound of motorcycles can be a bit noticeable, but it’s totally understandable given the central location. It didn’t bother me much and was a fair trade-off for being so close to everything.

Overall, a great value for the location and cleanliness. I’d definitely stay here again!

The staff was fabulous ans always ready to help. Good free breakfast everyday and really comfortable room. It was a short walk to downtown and I was able to walk to many excursions.
