CAN SEE WHY AREIAL PBOTOS OF THE HOTEL WERE TAKEN.

PROPERTY IS RUN DOWN AND IN NEED OF A MAJOR OVERHAUL. NO WIFI WHEN ADVERTISED WITH IT. NO FOOD AVAILABLE AGAIN ADVERTISED WITH IT, NO AIRCON OR FAN ON HOTTEST NIGHT OF THE YEAR, WINDOW WAS LEFT OPEN. BUT NOISEY ROAD NEXT TO HOTEL. GOT OUT AS QUICKLY AS I COULD AFTER A VERY UNCOMFORTABLE NIGHT. STAFF WERE LOVELY AND FRIENDLY AND NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR THE STATE OF THE PLACE.

A lovely place to visit - Thankyou
Pros:

Staff were kind and helpful, especially Chad who helped with a booking when the Wi-Fi was not in operation due to Open Reach working in the area. Lovely unusual decor downstairs.

Cons:

It was noisy by the main road but the location was lovely apart from that. The staff are aware of the need of the work that needs doing in the hotel, mainly outside.

Parfait pour une halte entre Hastings & Rye.
Pros:

Nous avons apprécié d'avoir une suite familiale ou chaque enfant avait sa chambre. La salle de bain était grande et propre. Le personnel a été très accueillant et serviable. La salle de petit déjeuner est très agréable.

Cons:

Un ventilateur dans la chambre aurait été un plus.

Geen 3e overnachting voor ons.
Pros:

Slecht ontbijt. Yoghurt van de Lidl etc. Ontbijt begint om 08:00
General manager welke ook het ontbijt zou moeten verzorgen kwam om 08:00 met een slaperig hoofd, in beeld.
Ontbijt was niet voorbereid. Geen eten, geen koffie, geen thee. Niets.
(Wij moesten de boot halen .. Met wat toast en marmelade achter de kiezen zijn we snel vertrokken en hebben 3 uur later op de boot wat ontbeten.)
Muziek ging storend hard aan in de keuken waarop ik zelf de keukendeur gesloten heb waarna de muziek nog harder werd gezet! Alle gasten hadden hier last van. Beter stoppen bij een tankstation!
We hebben op de heen en terugreis hier verbleven. Dit is structureel te noemen.
Niet goed.

Het brandalarm welke zonder reden om 04:15 afging...

Felt very much at home because of the friendly staff and atmosphere in this Guestling Hall Hotel.
Pros:

Exceptionally friendly and helpful reception by Bethany, the ass. manager. Gave us a room upgrade and advice where to eat as in-house dining was temporarily unavailable. Ample private parking available. Will come again when visiting this part of the country.

Cons:

The outside of this beautiful Victorian mansion needs some maintenance I’m afraid, will lift the appearance to where it should be.

We had a pleasant stay in a friendly charming hotel. The hotel hosts were wonderful, all the things we had for a breakfast were great, good beds and great wifi.

Great staff - lovely hotel and room - fab breakfast choices
Pros:

Great choice of breakfast, well cooked. Lovely room and great view. Interesting garden. The hotel was an interesting mix of vintage and new which gave it a quirky feel which I loved. Lovely lounges with big comfy settees. I bet it's wonderful in the winter when the fires are lit in the hearth! Staff helpful and attentive without being invasive which was perfect! I had a lovely stay and I will definitely be back!

Cons:

For Pokemon players only! - There is not a Pokemon-go poke stop within reach but I have submitted to Niantic two potential stops - the hotel sign and the unusual US postbox in the gardens so hopefully, fingers crossed, this will change for future!

Not worth the rate charged
Pros:

Staff were doing their best in difficult circumstances. Obviously trying to sort leaks, no housekeeper.

Cons:

The hotel isn't in great condition. The carpets were dirty. The rooms not as clean as I would expect. If we hadn't already paid on booking.com I would have refused to pay the fee charged. The family room on the top floor isn't great. Luckily we only had 2 guests - the third bedroom had rubble of some kind on the bed.

An expensive disappointment for my birthday treat.
Pros:

The breakfast was good if you like a full English but expensive otherwise. The manager was very pleasant and helpful in dealing with problems. Earplugs were thoughtfully provided……

Cons:

The state of the building generally and our room in particular was awful. The carpets were stained in places and clearly hadn’t even been vacuumed. The paintwork needs cleaning or repainting. Our room was a “deluxe” room, booked for my birthday. The window frame was filthy, a dead fly and dead moths on the windowsill. The bathroom had the smallest sink I have ever seen in a hotel and we had to call the manger to get it to empty. The outside of the shower cubicle was dirty, the floor tiles badly cracked, the toilet roll holder hanging off the wall, the mirror hung so high I could only see the top of my head, the shelf put up with no making good or painting round it and the cistern leaked water onto the floor at every flush.

Eigentlich nichts

Cons:

Leider ist das Hotel in die Jahre gekommen, man versucht es zwar, attraktiv zu gestalten, aber es ist alles ziemlich abgewohnt, die Unterkunft war sowohl in den Gemeinschaftsräumen als auch im Zimmer nicht wirklich sauber. Im Frühstücksraum waren die Tische vom Vortag noch nicht gereinigt, der Fußboden voller Essensreste. Da überall Teppichboden ausgelegt ist, kann sich Jeder denken, was es da so gibt. Mit wenig Aufwand könnte man aus dem Hotel ein Schmuckstück machen, aber es scheint, dass daran kein Interesse besteht.

In der Nacht , um kurz nach 2, wurden wir -ohne ersichtlichen Grund - von unserem Zimmerrauchmelder 2x lautstark geweckt. Das gleiche um 6:15 Uhr. Als wir dies beim Frühstück angesprochen haben, hieß es nur "das ist hier so,das passiert schon einmal".

Im kleinen Bad war der Toilettenpapierhalter mit Doppelklebeband befestigt, was permanent abfiel.

Wir können diese Unterkunft nicht empfehlen.

Am 2. Tag war zumindest die neue Frühstückskraft freundlich.

Prima voor de prijs
Pros:

De gastvrouw Beth was heel aardig en legde alles fijn uit. De kamer was erg ruim en de badkamer was netjes, met een fijne douche. We verbleven 1 nacht om om tijd bij de ferry in Dover te kunnen zijn. Dat was een uurtje rijden. Het pand is geweldig ingericht met heel veel mooie meubels en spullen!!

Cons:

Het bed was heel groot maar niet comfortabel. De veren kraakten en het bed was heel onstabiel. De ontbijtruimte was mooi ingericht maar het kon wat schoonmaak gebruiken, de hoge raampartijen zaten vol spinnenwebben. De buitenkant van het pand had echt een opknapbeurt nodig

Great location

Cons:

Very tired decor & needs money spent on it to repair peeling window frames , stains on ceiling .
Needed a good hoover up the stairs and in the breakfast room.Dead flies on window sills
Could be beautiful but quite run down.
