Pros:

When we first arrived in Japan we released our international license had been forgotten, we had a friend express post it to the hotel, with hope in our hearts and they were very kind and obliging and the licence arrived! The onsen was lovely.

Cons:

Hokodate itself was fairly underwhelming.

Great location!
Pros:

Excellent location, with easy access to the train station and the trams, and more importantly - the morning fish market!

Highlight is the small Onsen with lovely views upstairs, and a lounge with panoramic sights over all of Hakodate. The room we stayed at also had a nice window with a great view over the harbour.

The beds were comfortable, the room was comfortable, and the washer/dryer was a welcome addition!

However, it is overall a rather generic hotel, which can be perfect if you're looking for it, but it does make the particular place slightly less memorable. Location, value for money, and the views more than make up for it, however.

I loved staying in Hakodate, and it's close to the JR rail
Pros:

The washer/dryer and provided laundry detergent were top-notch. The room I stayed in had a fantastic view and the hair dryer and shampoo and conditioner were fantastic. The fresh fish market is within walking distance.

Cons:

The price was a bit steep for a place in Hakodate, and I wasn't given any special deals for staying 5 days in a row. That's the one downside I had.
