I got sick and the people couldn't have been nicer to help me get everything I needed. They were so flexible and understanding. The room was great, the decor of the hotel is outstanding!

This was my third stay at The Ivens, and it never fails to impress! It’s truly the best hotel in Lisbon. The décor is absolutely stunning, the staff are exceptional, and every detail reflects the highest quality. Can’t wait to come back soon!

As a frequent traveler, I can confidently say that my stay at The Ivens was one of the best experiences I’ve ever had. From the very first moment, the attention to detail stood out in everything, from the décor to the small thoughtful touches throughout the hotel. I absolutely loved the gifts and the little details at turndown; they made each evening feel special and truly cared for.

We even preferred The Ivens to the Ritz, whose service felt a bit stiff in comparison. At The Ivens, the service is refined but relaxed, making you feel genuinely welcome.

The staff were exceptional: warm, professional, and always willing to go the extra mile. The location is perfect for exploring the city, making everything easily accessible. What truly makes The Ivens special, though, is its storytelling, the atmosphere, design, and concept come together to create a unique and memorable experience. Absolutely fantastic in every way.

Nestled in the heart of Chiado, The Ivens reimagines the adventures of two Portuguese explorers, with wildlife-inspired interiors that feel like a distinctly personal, luxury stay. 


From the moment we arrived to celebrate our engagement, the experience felt thoughtful. A bouquet of flowers, chilled champagne and delicate desserts set the tone. Our room struck a balance between refined luxury and easy comfort, with soft linens, lighting and everyday essentials that delivered a sense of calm after a day wandering Lisbon.


We toasted to the occasion in Rocco, the hotel’s sprawling bar, which draws both locals and travellers - It was spirited without ever feeling loud. The negroni sours were a highlight and a definite must-try.

Breakfast the next morning was fresh, generous and served with that effortlessly warm Portuguese service - thoughtful, convivial, but never intrusive.

What distinguishes The Ivens is its blend of stylish design, intimate luxury and genuine hospitality. It doesn’t shout luxury, it embodies it in thoughtful touches, a spirited bar scene and the feeling that this is a place to celebrate life’s moments - big or small.



In Lisbon, there are many beautiful hotels, but few offer such a seamless mix of place, personality and luxury.
