I specifically want to acknowledge the excellent service from Hezron and Kenroy at the sea salt restaurant and pool cabana. They both went out of their way to make us comfortable and feel special. The spa was wonderful. My friend and I both had an amazing experience with a massage and facial combo appointment. I believe Jeanette was the name of my masseuse
I would like to start off my saying that I'm a Marriott Platinum Elite member and a world traveler. First impressions are often lasting impressions. I arrived at the Alaia for check-in was told my room wasn't ready. I inquired why since I'm a Platinum Elite member. The response was "based on availability." I'm referencing my status because I've traveled extensively over the last 13 years and held that status. Never has this been an issue checking in early. Check in was at 4pm and I arrived around 1:30pm. We continued the check-in process and I was asked to provide a credit card for incidentals. He wrote down my credit card number instead of scanning it. I questioned that practice given the risk of fraud and received the response "we are old school here." I note that the basic room at this property is $700 a night. The credit card system should not be this archaic. I asked for a ETA on when my room would be ready and was simply met with a response provided no clarity. I waited for a hour and fifteen minutes for a room. The bellhop who escorted me to the room advised that the water was unsafe and that you would receive two bottles of water a day. That's it. Given the extremely hot temperature and humidity AND the price of the hotel, I fully would expect unlimited water. When we arrived at the hotel, he asked if I had any other questions. I told him no and before I could tip him, he turned away and slammed the door. Clearly, there was an expectation that I tip him and when it appeared it wasn't going to happen he got pissed off and stormed out the room.
I woke up for breakfast and went to use the elevator and it was out of service. Luckily, I'm on the second floor. Breakfast was decent and free for me due to my status. I came back to my room around 10am and housekeeping was there. I did it interesting that they were making their rounds so early on a Sunday morning, but inconveniently no rooms were ready the day before when I arrived at 1:30pm.
Overall, it was not worth the price. Pick another hotel.
Alaia was more than a hotel stay — it honestly made our Belize trip unforgettable. The property is beautiful, the atmosphere is unreal, and the staff took everything to another level.
We set up snorkeling at the concierge to head to Hol Chan and Shark Ray Alley which was so worth it. We saw sea turtle, nurse sharks, and so many other incredibly unique fish. Wear the life vest if you’re not a strong swimmer.
We also rented a golf cart through them too and took it all the way to secret beach, which was worth it, stopping at a bunch of unique places along the way. We learned about Belize culture, how they live, and why a car was on top a walkway. The experience was unforgettable.
Huge shoutout to Eric, the first face you see walking in, for making us feel welcomed from day one. He always remembered our names and taught us about his life and the area. Joey and Ken… “we dem boys” — don’t let them fool you, they’re twins. They brought the energy every day and made the entire experience fun and personal. They were so cool that we wanted to hang with them outside of the resort.
And Shakira and Hezron at Salt & Pepper breakfast were absolutely amazing. Starting every morning with their kindness, service, and good vibes genuinely made our time here even better. They also always remembered our name and me being a creature of habit: always having my table remembered, as well as my order.
You can stay somewhere beautiful anywhere… but the people are what make you want to come back. Alaia nailed that.
Spacious, nice, good value. I’m not sure I would’ve flown all the way from the Northeast for this hotel, however, we were staying on points and for that it was a great opportunity. We are a family of four with a 2 bedroom suite, kitchen and a nice outdoor space. It was ideal for 3 nights, lots to do in the area.
My partner and I had a fantastic stay at this resort. I did some heavy homework while deciding which resort we wanted to stay on and Alaia had the best Everything that we were looking for. Upon our arrival, we decided to have dinner at one of their establishments. And we were greeted and treated fantastically by Minnie. After that, every time we had dinner, every time we saw mini, we went and gravitated towards wherever she was working, because she was great. On earth.Second day we booked a cabana, and initially, we had a bit of an issue with our service as there was a big party. However, after bringing this up to Minnie, she made sure we spoke to the manager who made our experience much better than it had initially been. Through the course of our stay, there were several exceptional staff members such as Ken, Marie and Ken Roy, who made sure that we were always well Taken care of and satisfied. Gustavo also did a great job in making sure that his staff was always attentive in met our needs. THE ROOMS WERE ALSO BEAUTIFUL.WELL, SPACED OUT AND ALWAYS MAINTAINED CLEAN. My partner and I had such a fantastic stay that we are already planning on returning. Thank you to everyone who made sure our stay here was great. Especially to Minnie thank you
Resort 10/10 Really just a fantastic stay for R&R
Island is Gorgeous! Food delicious! You’ll definitely come back again! Staff is the friendliest! I had the best time and best stay! No notes!
Alaia Belize was a wonderful resort. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. Eric at the front lobby was fantastic great guide very knowledgeable.
Fantastic hotel and resort. Very modern and beautiful decor with great amenities. The staff is very professional and the food is great. Would come back.
I loved this whole experience. I have not one complaint. Eric was so helpful an made my family and I feel greatly accommodated. Thank you for this trip!
Had a wonderful time at Alaia Hotel. We had a pool and ocean view and it was great. Hotel staff greeted us upon our arrival and made sure it was a smooth check in process. The food at sea salt was pretty good. The hotel was nice and clean and the staff were all very friendly. We were close to the main town where all the restaurants and bars were. Mr. E as I called him, But Eric was a pleasure as he greeted us each and everyday with a smile on his face and advice for the day. I would recommend and stay here again when I do come back during conch season.
We enjoyed our stay. Multiple bars and pools. Clean property and friendly staff. Eric was accommodating and helpful throughout our stay. He made sure we knew where everything was on the property and answered all our questions.
Alaia Resort is amazing I definitely recommend you book your stay here and Eric at the front desk is one of the best employees I have met since I was here. He was the always nice and courteous!
We had a first rate experience at the Alaia Belize. My husband and I spent over a week at the resort and had a wonderful experience all the way around.
Massage at the Alaia Spa: Dominica gave me an epic massage. For sure my best vacation massage ever. I walked in with all sorts of angst and physical ailments and she ended up giving me a hybrid massage with hot rocks, deep tissue work, etc. It was also the best massage table I've ever been on. I sank into the table and my head rest was perfectly placed that helped set the tone for relaxation.
Scuba Diving: My husband and I were there to dive. We went on 9 dives and 3 snorkels over 5 days with the Belize Pro Dive Center located in front of the resort. I will write a separate review on them but in short, super convenient location and we very happy with the guides, dive sites, and variety of sea life that we saw.
Meals and Entertainment: My husband and I are avid travelers and this is the most time we've ever spent at a resort. There were about 5 restaurants, pools, and opportunities to dine on the beach or by a rooftop pool. The staff made a point to engage and remember us including Marie, Johnny, Mini, Jeremy, and Hezron. They remembered our names, would tell us about what to look for diving, and answered questions about the island. There was also engaging entertainment every night.
Room: Our room was even better than the photos. Our room was beautiful, with noteworthy views, and spacious. It was probably 1 1/2 times the size of our condo back in The States, and looked like new. There were also 2 bathrooms, a full fridge/freezer, patio/deck, etc. Our room was very clean and we never saw a single bug in our room.
Thank you Alaia for helping make our trip!
It’s a nice, clean property. Staff is very nice and attentive.
For the amount of price we paid we stay, we shouldn’t pay extra $200 for cabana. Also the buffet option should have more option. It’s crazy to me 2 people breakfast costs $81 USD. It’s not like we had anything crazy. We got breakfast burritos, omelette and 2 lattes) The price doesn’t match the quality of our experience.
We had an excellent at Alaia Belize, Autograph Collection. We originally booked a garden view suite, and during our stay there was an issue that came up, but the way the hotel handled the situation truly impressed us. The general manager, Rashid, was extremely professional, understanding, and attentive. He made sure everything was taken care of and upgraded my family and me to an ocean view suite to make up for the inconvenience, which we really appreciated.
The staff throughout the resort were excellent friendly, welcoming, and always willing to help. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and well maintained, and the food was also very good. Shakira at breakfast was excellent! She made our pancakes delicious!!Overall, the customer service and hospitality stood out the most and made our experience memorable. Thank you to Rashid and the entire team for turning the situation around and making our stay enjoyable.

Truly enjoyed my experience at the Alaia! From first stepping onto the property all the way to checking-out, it was amazing! The staff was EXTREMELY friendly and helpful throughout my entire stay. I usually only like to stay at hotels to sleep, but this property had everything I needed to truly enjoy my vacation without leaving. It's in a very quiet area of San Pedro, but a short walking distance and even much shorter golf cart ride to restaurants, stores, etc. I can't remember everyones names, but special shoutout to Tina for such a welcoming and friendly spirit, Naya for amazing recommendations on the property, and Eric for his helpfulness.
This was our 9th stay at the Alaia and it never disappoints. The rooms are clean and well-maintained, the pools/spa/facilities are fantastic and a highlight of the property. More than anything the staff is incredible, Eric and Meni are amazing and always make us feel welcomed and taken care of. Love it here and will continue to return.
The service was amazing and I enjoyed ever second of my time. I also got engaged (thanks to Alisha )💍 on this trip and the staff truly helped making my engagement the best. Eric was so welcoming, and everyday said good morning. Ms. Mini always had our drink ready at the pool and remembered my name. Chris always mixed that perfect drink at the pool bar and he never forgot to add that liquor lol (inside joke).
Thank you to everyone on the trip! I did forget some names but everyone was great. Best service ever even with the seaweed smell.
Let me not forget about Indigo's birthday cake that I can't remember his name (but he lived in California and Las Vegas for a little ) that truly made her birthday special and her whole family sang happy birthday to her with a special slice. Thanks for the amazing stay!!!
This is my first time in Belize. I came for my birthday and a little relaxation. I must say, the island and the people are amazing. I cannot describe how friendly, caring and amazing the staffs of Alaia hotel are. The hotel is clean and welcoming. My most gratitude goes to Eric for his kindness and love. It is a pleasure to meet you. You made my experience in Belize a great experience. Thanks to all the staffs for all you do. I will definitely come back.
Beautiful faculties, excellent customer service, great food. And peaceful and positive vibes. Not to Mention Eric. He welcomed us and assisted with the luggage.
