Beautiful hotel! Eric was incredibly kind and helpful! Made our stay worth while. The breakfast was incredibly good. Everyone is so amazing
Our family of 5 just returned from an amazing week at this resort. We stayed in the older section in a 2 bedroom 2nd floor unit. The room was spacious and clean. It lacked some color and decor even artwork. The furniture was very cheap and flimsy and there was no color. If they would add some decor, color and better quality furniture it would make a huge difference
The staff makes this resort
We were so impressed with the amount of staff they had. Each person wanted to make sure we were enjoying ourselves and they went above and beyond with a smile. This really made the difference.
Marlan, the restaurant manager was so helpful and always there to make sure we were taken care of. Nick, who does a magnificent job on the morning juices has a big future in the food industry. He is meticulous with his details and takes so much pride in what he does which makes all the difference. His presentations are beautiful.
Kenyon at the pool took extra care of our special needs son - Kenyon always had the biggest smile on his face and greeted our son with a hug each day. He is truly amazing
All of the resort restaurants were amazing- better than many we ate at off the property.
The staff makes this property so amazing- the bellman gave the best dining tips, the housekeepers left us special flowers that we appreciated.
One thing is do not expect a beach you can swim in on property which was our only complaint but this is common on the island.
We stayed here for a week with our two grandaughters in a Reef two-bedroom Villa.
Important note when not traveling with your own kids, Belize and Southwest Airlines need a notarized permission slip signed by both parents or the will not let you on the plane or in the country.
We flew into Belize city and the hotel arranged a puddle jumper flight to San Pedro airport on Ambergris Caye where the hotel is located. Cost is $225 USD each round trip. We were met at the airport by the hotel van which conveyed us to the hotel where we were checked into our Villa. The Villa was spacious and well maintained. Over the next week we took 3 Hol Chan and shark snorkeling trips (Nichelle), and the mainland Mayan Temple, Cave and zip line tours. All tours were arranged by the hotel and executed flawlessly - even with the rain.
It rained several times a day, but the showers were passing. Because of this we ate on the property every day. We rented a golf cart from the hotel although every cart had ripped seats that soaked up the water that squished out when sat upon. With the exception of a meal at the Sea Salt dining room (ran out of our entrees), the food was great and well prepared. After a mix-up at the Terrace, the correct Mahi-Mahi arrived and was truly exceptional.
Kudos to the grounds keeping and the room servicing attendants and the management staff; the results of their efforts are apparent. The sands are literally raked every day. It is true that there is no entry from the property beaches into the water, but the heated pool more than make up for it.
All in all it was a fantastic vacation enhanced by the friendliness of the staff and Belizean people.
So we arrived, check in was smooth with Eric taking us to our room. The food was good in all the restaurants, we ate at each one of them. When we talking about professional, outgoing and well groomed always, look for the head of Restaurants Akil, such a gem, always everywhere, even day time at the pool. He always smiling and never seems to be tired. He would always ask us about our experience not only about his area. Akil also recommend fun stuff to do on and off property. Our stay was amazing and we’re already planing our next trip to Belize. Thank you Akil for your service and hospitality.
Had a great Christmas holiday at Alaia. Dive shop was great and best snorkeling we’ve done! Eric welcomed us and was fantastic. Christie kept our room looking great.
We absolutely loved our stay at Alaia Belize. This resort is truly special, and it is entirely because of the people. From the moment we arrived, Eric set the tone. He was the very first staff member to assist us, helping with our luggage and immediately making us feel welcome. He shared jokes, wisdom, and warmth, and without us even asking, noticed that one of us enjoys working out and thoughtfully pointed out the gym and nearby amenities. Eric is funny, fatherly, humble, and genuinely generous in spirit. He checked in on us whenever we crossed paths (always with a high-five or fist bump) and shared meaningful stories about his upbringing and family. Saying goodbye to him at the end of our stay was truly bittersweet. Elvis also deserves recognition. He was consistently kind and helpful, and wonderful during checkout. We wish him all the best with his new baby boy.
Every restaurant on the property was excellent, but Sea Salt truly stood out. The lobster was incredibly fresh and buttery, and the ceviche was unmatched. The staff there made every meal memorable. Jorge had us laughing early in the morning with his playful tequila jokes, Jomar brought great energy and humor (especially during the Saturday night beach buffet), and Jeremy was exceptional throughout our stay. Emily, the hostess for the breakfast buffet, was so attentive she practically memorized our room number. Congratulations to Jeremy on his upcoming summer wedding. Our favorite dish of the entire trip, hands down, was the tres leches cake (we had it three times). Saturday night’s beach buffet was the perfect final dinner. It was beautifully done. At the beach buffet, Anneth completely impressed us with her deep knowledge of Belizean history and culture; our conversation with her was engaging, thoughtful, and genuinely enriching.
The pool team deserves special praise. Blanca was our absolute favorite. She was always smiling, checking in frequently, and making sure we had everything we needed. She matched our energy effortlessly, and it was difficult saying goodbye to her. Rolando went above and beyond, bringing additional pool chairs from the back, setting us up in a prime location, and even reserving the same chairs for us the following day while we went snorkeling. His thoughtfulness and dedication were truly admirable. Aaron at the bar was also fantastic.
Even when there was a small hiccup during our Christmas Eve dinner at The Deck (table placement, loud music, and a wobbly table), the situation was handled with professionalism and care. Our server was wonderful, the stone crab soup was phenomenal, and the following morning Alisha, the reservations manager, personally followed up with kindness and empathy, even offering a bottle of sparkling wine as a thoughtful gesture. Marlan, the restaurant manager, was equally impressive. He was welcoming, approachable, and genuinely inclusive. We even ran into him off-duty while browsing a grocery store in town, and he still took the time to offer local advice.
Additional thanks to Krystal, who checked us in and out with warmth and local insight; Celina, who patiently helped us book our snorkeling excursion; Danielle at the adults-only infinity pool restaurant, who was wonderful despite being short-staffed; and Minny (Minna), our very first dinner server at The Deck, whose humor (and casual “hasta la vista, baby”) still makes us smile, haha.
The spa experience was outstanding. We both left feeling completely rejuvenated. Ginny (Gina) was attentive, highly skilled, and exceptional.
The ocean views were stunning, the pool was perfect, and we did not have a single bad meal. But for us, the true magic of Alaia Belize was in the warmth, authenticity, and heart of its people. We felt genuinely welcomed, celebrated, and cared for as a couple and that is what makes this resort truly unforgettable.
The hotel layout is beautiful, but the hotel is worn in! The staff is helpful and kind
THERE IS NO BEACH AT THIS HOTEL
You can see the beach, sit on the sand, but you cannot swim
And while sitting on the beach, the smell of exhaust is nauseating from the boat traffic
If you are a pool person this hotel is for you
The food at the restaurants looks good but is very salty
Elvis and Eric were AWESOME and provided first class service and were always very friendly and willing to give recommendations.
I'd like to highlight several individuals who made outer stay fantastic!
Keith-Taxi from Tropical Air, our round trip driver to Maxies, and Elvis.
Eric- greetd us upon arrival and took our luggage to our rooms
Front desk guy (forget his name but his energy was everything!!
Our hotel serves- Heroz, Maria, Aron, Henry, Adrian, Dalia, Annette, and Ms. Vee,
We'll definitely return!!
Eric was very nice and help. He was polite and courteous. All the associates were very nice. The food, drinks and my room was awesome.
I went here for birthday trip with my friends and we had the best time. the staff was excellent starting with Eric with such a warm welcome and helping anything we needed, Jay with such a smooth and easy check in process, and Shanir with his suggestions on things to do around the hotel and on the island as well. The rooftop pool dining experience with jomar was excellent Overall my experience was pretty good the only negative thing I have to say is Housekeeping does a wonderful job getting the room together however they took our washcloths after service and did not replace them so every day we had to call to have washcloths sent to our room
Loved this hotel and the staff was amazing! Special shout out to Eric! He was so nice and very welcoming upon arrival. I will definitely stay here again.
We had an amazing time!
The staff Elvis, Eric Mendez, Hezeron, Maria, Kaiden and Josea at the bar and Elba (sp) from house keeping. Thank you all so much. You made our honeymoon so special. We are I’ll definitely be back.
To Kenrol and Nick… thank you for the special care keeping us safe and healthy.
To the concierge staff.
Thank you for answering my questions before and during the trip.
The food was delicious. Rooms were super clean. Our needs and wants were always met. You made us feel at home!
Roxanne and Rod from Boston
This was an amazing trip. Eric was one of the best people you will meet and has the most inviting energy. Maria was also a joy to encounter! She was very helpful and attentive! This trip was for my birthday with my significant other and they made us feel very comfortable and answered all our questions and made things happen! 10/10 would recommend!
We had an amazing time this week. We felt special the moment we booked. Jacky in reservations took great care of us when we hit a snag. Blanca was the most beautiful! She continued to serve us and get to know us even when we were the only ones on the beach. She continued the trek out to check on us even tho her main section was by the pool! Whe was amazing and even found us papaya! She was so great that we planned our day trip to secret beach on her day off! Her "brighten every moment" smile will be missed!
Great service and clean rooms, but limited beach access and weak liquor options affect value.
Eric needs a raise asap!!
The Alaia was amazing! The room was super super clean. We had the penthouse suite with the 3 balconies and full kitchen. We also had the all-inclusive plan which allowed us to get room service any hours of the night. The food was 10/10. The service was 10/10. Kailynn, Ernestina and Shakira at the pool were DELIGHTUL. Make sure you get a golf cart and explore this beautiful city.
This place is amazing and the staff make you feel right at home. Eric was so pleasant and helpful I will definitely come again
Everything from the rooms to the restaurants to the pool were excellent and the friendly staff was exceptional. My new friend Eric who worked as a bell hop set the tone right from the start. Not only did he provide exceptional service but he and the rest of the staff did so in a personable and friendly way. Fantastic overall experience for me and my wife, my teenage daughters and my parents!
