The positives: This is a 5-star hotel and Douala and Cameroon should be proud of this hotel. The building is impressive, the furnishings, the decor and the rooms and the suite we stayed in was absolutely stunning. The reception was worthy of a 5-star hotel. The staff were amazing.
The negatives: the windows from the rooms are dirty and do not give a good impression of the hotel. They can be cleaned from the inside so that guests have a good view from the hotel. The carpet in the hallway was stained in some spots. High-end hotels are getting away from carpets altogether for many reasons including health. The swimming pool area had too many people who were not there to use the pool. In fact some outside people came to record selfies for their social media posts. It’s a shame a hotel of this calibre would allow that. Also, access to the pool should not be through the restaurant.
I raised all these concerns in person and the staff were very receptive. In fact, Nelly who is a public relations staff was excellent as she took time to hear me and offer some helpful background information.
I loved the spirit displayed by the staff of this hotel. The owner and management have succeeded well here. I can only wish them well.
Amazing stay very comfortable
Don't be fooled by the reception desk, that is the best customer service you will receive. After that, customer service goes down the drain. The people working at the buffet except for 1 single waitress were all rude and looked like they did not want to be there at all. 3 days and 2 nights and i had NO HOT WATER. Not even luke warm. I had 2 roaches just chilling in my room and i was on the 2nd floor. If you get stuck in the elevator you might pass out from heat as the fan DO NOT WORK. I told the hotel about this and they still did not provide a discount or anything. When i arrived i had high hopes for this hotel but it was getting worse day by day. I was very happy to leave and go to a hotel that has functioning water and people that were happy to work. I have no intention of going back to Douala and even less of going back there.
