My husband and I arrived in Jekyll Friday and was warmly greeted by Aarya Trivedi. After checking us in, I was found out from one of our friends that I could have requested a balcony room, which ours was not. I called downstairs and Aarya answered the phone. I explained to him that I would like to request a balcony room. I failed to request ocean front because I didn’t realize balconies were on both sides of the hotel. He promptly got to work and quickly found us one. When I realized it wasn’t oceanfront I called again and he changed us to an oceanfront. Honestly I have never done anything like this ever. I was embarrassed by this point but he was so kind and accommodating. He even had to send someone upstairs to get some clothes we had left hanging in another room. To say he went over the top to make sure we were happy is an under statement. I offered to buy Aarya a meal for the next day and he responded, “thank you but if you want to do something, write a review for the Marriot. Not once did he ask me to write one for himself but I knew that was exactly what I would do. Thank you, Marriot and especially Aarya for making this “older couple” feel special.
We have been coming every other week since July and have absolutely loved our stay every time! our first visit we left one of husbands good shirts in the closet and when we went back for our second stay I mentioned it to the staff and Kaley went above and beyond and went straight to the back and got it! Troy is amazing with booking our stays, we get the best room Everytime! and Aarya the front office manager, He is phenomenal! My husband loves to chat with Aarya everytime he sees him, and If you can't find any pineapple juice on the island, he is the man to go to😂🥰 We love the staff!!
Also...The rooms are very clean and the beds are so comfy. Everything from the pool, live music, the bar to the beach we absolutely love it!! You will not be disappointed at all!
Disappointed. I have stayed at various courtyards and few times i have been disappointed. after my first night, i was told they do not clean rooms each day. where is that in the fine print. i want clean, i am paying for it. hallways big floor stains, i asked cleaning people, "we do not vacuum each day. nor do they vacuum each room when they clean. the location is somewhat removed from more visited areas of the island. what atmosphere, nothing to draw you indoors, of course you are not there to be indoors. What the devil is a destination fee? Hidden charges! Restaurant food is bar food, but it was tasty and a nice bar. No complimentary breakfast, the Starbucks has limited coffees. I was told more than once, that did not come on the truck? What truck? cheap bicycles to ride, i looked at the other hotels. There is nothing they can do about the Marsh smell in the water, it truly smells like poop. It cannot be removed and you will shower in that water each day. i would not drink from the tap. get ready for a 10.00 toll each time you enter the island. if you are a hot natured person, you cannot set the temp below 68. I just feel for the price i was let down. I wonder if this is a corporate hotel or it is licensed to another? more like a motel than a hotel.
The location is beautiful. I liked the access to the bicycles.
There is nowhere near enough room for clothes. You need hangers in the bathroom for wet towels.
Proximity to amenities
My room did not have a microwave. The staff told me I had to use the one in the candy store next to the check in counter. Horrible.
Close to beach, beautiful grounds and things to do w pool and games, starbucks, nice lobby, good food at restaurant
Cant say anything was bad
Breakfast was ok for fee. The best part about this place is the beach is right at the property and pool was great. They have lots of different set ups, games all-around the facility for entertaining. It rained both days we were there, so we were able to play games in the lobby.
It appears because I booked my stay with booking.com they did not give me the room I paid for. I paid for balcony with beach view; I had a balcony with parking view. I show them my reservation which I paid extra for the views I requested, they send me to another room without balcony nor view, promised to move us in the morning by noon. The next day I asked they said it will be between 1-2pm. then 2pm they said 3pm overall room was not ready until 4:30pm which I waisted my whole day waiting for the room. Overall, it was horrible we did not get to do much because we waited all day to be moved to room #3. During check out they over charge (extra $149) for the room with view I had to show them my invoice from booking.com then they tried to fix it still charged $30 extra. At that point I was tired and ready to leave the place.
I will not go back there again.
This location is amazing. I mistakenly booked an island view room instead of an ocean view and Troy was able to get me in to an ocean view plus early check in!!!! His customer service is top notch and he is a true asset to the company.
One of the best Marriott’s I’ve probably been to. Went on a solo trip for college. Brought my ps5 and asked the manager if I could play on the big tv in the lobby and he let me play the whole night, super nice guy, thanks Rick!
The hotel’s atmosphere and environment is like a little community of its own. You can literally go stay there and not ever have to leave the hotel if you don’t want too. The food is good downstairs in the restaurant, I love that they have someone playing live music at the restaurant, the staff are exceptional, even down to the housekeeping that are always smiling and friendly and speaking to you as you walk through the hallways to your elevator! The outside area is well thought out and family friendly! Lots of cool games for the kids to play and the pool and hot tub make the stay even better! The ocean is beautiful and I love how they have it laid out so you are right off the ocean and only a few feet and your back by the pool showering off and enjoying a drink, laying out, watching your babies kick the ball or play one of there many outside games and just enjoying the peaceful atmosphere! I highly recommend this hotel and we will be back!
comfortable beds, lots of plugs on nightstand, size of tv, programming available on tv, food at the restaurant, wait staff especially Romancia (I am not sure I spelled her name correctly), she was an intern from Jamaica - friendly and a delight to talk with in the restaurant.
room was warm when we arrived so took several hours to cool down; door had crazy lock fixture that we had to adjust in order to shut the door from the outside.
First off, my wife and I reserved an oceanfront balcony room on January 1, 2026. Our reservation was the week of July the 4th. We arrived at the hotel at 4:05 pm. We were provided a first-floor room with a patio with no view of the ocean. We were looking forward to setting on our balcony watching the ocean and the view during the stay. The manager on duty could not provide us the room type that we reserved 7 months prior. The hotel was full. We were offered $100 off the first night stay, which equals a $20 per night price reduction for a 5-night stay. We also provided $10 per day food drink credit. This does not equal the price difference from a patio room on the 1st floor versus an oceanfront balcony room. The hotel should have made sure our room type was available upon check-in since we book months ahead of time. This was not all that was wrong during our stay. Here are some of things wrong with our stay at the Courtyard.
1. No dresser in a large room (all rooms do not) - We have to live out of suitcases during our stay.
2. Mold on the inside and outside of the shower.
3. Caulking loose and hanging in the shower.
4. Bathroom light rusted with light burned out.
5. No privacy wall between the next-door room, while other rooms had them.
6. Room Cleaning only on the 3rd day of the stay for a 5-night stay
7. Purchased snacks that were melted
8. I have called Mariott Corporate twice without any response.
9. Had to ask for towels on days without room cleaning
10. Customer computers and printers not working
11. Is spending $1900 for the above issues worth it?
In my opinion, pick a different hotel if you plan to stay in Jekyll Island!
Nice location on the beach. Lovely beach view from our balcony. Beds were comfortable and room is spacious. You could rent beach chairs and an umbrella for the day. Food, bar was tasty. Starbucks only open until 11am which was odd. Nice they provide a shuttle to bring you on the island to restaurants and pick up.
No towels to be found by the pool. Glad I brought my own.
The pool and access to the beach was great. The property was clean and great amenities.
The staff!! From check in to check out, the staff was unfriendly. No smiling, no enjoy your stay, no conversational from any staff members. The bartenders were rude, seemed like it was a nuisance for them to make a drink, and I’m a great tipper too!!
