Spacious light room, large bathroom, great view of river.
Dinner reservation was a let down, table wasn’t laid, food took an hour to arrive.

Staff not sure what’s going on with breakfast and listening to customers,room was very noisy with extractor fan from kitchen I think and decor was poor

Basic room, only two hangers, one bedside lamp not working, no drinking water, room not made up unless you requested this. I would say this is a pub with rooms rather than a hotel.

Stairs are very steep. Had one guest that needs assistance and struggles with stairs. A way to get up stairs (aware of alternate option of cabins) would make this excellent
Pretty hotel/pub. Nice location. Room adequate. Shower very good. Comfortable bed. Dog freindly. Late check out. Parking. Good touring base. Hairdryer provided.
Avoid the scampi in a basket, awful. Short staffed, woman behind bar grumpy/ Younger staff very pleasant. Sunday food service not long enough. Bathroom could have been a bit cleaner. Drawers in room cheap and nasty.

Food choice was getting worse each day - missing ingredients. One day we had to wait for the updated menu to be printed out.
The staff were very helpful. The lady who booked me in on Sunday evening was very kind, as I arrived with a severe migraine and fetched me a large glass of iced water to take to my room. The lady who was serving at breakfast was very helpful and friendly.
A faulty fire alarm that started bleeping at 3.00am. Luckily one of the other guests was able to dismantle it so we could all go back to sleep as there were no staff to be found. My room had several items that didn’t work. The roller blind didn’t work and had to be unrolled and rolled up by hand. The bedside light didn’t work and the bedside socket didn’t seem to have any electricity. The coat hooks on the back of the room entrance door were broken. The en-suite was very basic, no shelves to put toiletries bag or anything to place a toothbrush in, no shelf in the shower and there was mould around the base of the shower. The room was very hot with no fan facilities which should have been a consideration given the exceptional hot weather we are having presently in the U.K., especially in the South East. Guests had to wait for over half an hour outside the locked door to attend breakfast, which we had booked for 8.00am but weren’t allowed in until 8.30am. Guests were told that there was a mix up and staff didn’t turn up for the morning shift.
After reading some negative reviews we were concerned about our booking, but nothing to worry about, hotel was clean, rooms were large and staff were lovely and went over and beyond to make our stay memorable. We would definitely stay again.
