Pleasant stay
Pros:

Lovely location, clean room, polite staff.
1 staff member went out of her way to apologise to me when a bar regular was rude to me.

Cons:

Room was cold
No ice for my drink the whole duration of my visit.

So much potential wasted!
Pros:

A lovely setting on the river.
Good chicken tikka meal.

Cons:

Cold room with only a small fan heater to try and get it warm.
Very drab and tired looking.
Luke warm shower.
No atmosphere in the restaurant and it was cold..

Adequate with price reflecting rather down-trodden feeling.
Pros:

Excellent breakfast! However the whole building is in urgent need of upgrading - especially flooring and tables. Bedroom was clean and tidy - good self-service tea for example. Posssibly as expected for the price although we don't think our wives would have liked to stay there!! Car park good although the usual pot-holes experienced. Black building extensions visible from car park ugly and not welcoming, also grass-cutting would enhance impression on arrival.

Lo Ely over night stay.
Pros:

Great staff. We arrived too late for our dinner booking, but the staff checked us in to our rooms with a smile.
The rooms were a good size. Tea coffee etc available. The bar was very quaint.
The river is right outside the hotel. Lovely view of the boats from the hotel.

Cons:

The pillows were lumpy and flat.
Dust on the garment hanging rail and dust and cobwebs on the curtain pole.

Good for one night or two.
Pros:

Staff friendly. Perfect spot to join a day trip from the harbour. Bed would have been more comfortable with better pillows. Bathroom was warm. Tea/coffee & biscuits. Felt safe, easy check in and out. Restaurant meal was tasty but way too big & expensive. Smaller portion & cheaper preferred. Would stay again.

Cons:

Square pillows uncomfortable. Large cobwebs or spiders web behind open bathroom sink and brown stains on bathroom floor? No bathroom toiletries. Restaurant & bar prices! Huge lasagne was lovely but way too much and expensive.

good value for money,
Pros:

character & Location to boat yard as hiring a day boat
clean white fluffy towels, comfortable bed.
Good food, arrived hot
Friendly staff & locals
much improved since our stay last year, rooms now decorated / themed & much brighter

Cons:

room especially bathroom was very cold when we arrived as no heating on, did have a fan heater which helped but had to stand it on only chair for lead to reach plug & leave bathroom door open which helped, lots of complaints ref cold rooms from our party of 10.

beautiful 200 year old building set on the river...very welcoming & friendly staff .chief superb! food (evening menu and breakfast fantastic) one of the best hotels I've stayed!
