The breakfast was very good
The male server in the dinning room when I had breakfast never smiled any time while I there and if you said good morning to him he never acknowledged you. The only time he spoke to me was on my last day while I was having breakfast. He asked me my room number if I have come off the street to have a free breakfast.
The female staff were nice and polite in the dinning room and on the reception
I'm sure I stayed in this hotel (another name) back in the 70's when I worked in the area . I chose this hotel because of that . I had forgotten how far a walk it was into town but I was young and fit back then. However, walk around the corner to the bus stop and for not much money, I was in town in a moment. Brilliant.
As for the hotel, I enjoyed my stay , I was in a bijou single room which had everything I required for my 4 night stay. My bed was really comfortable, the shower room served my purpose well without being flash . There is a small lift but seeing I was on the first floor, I used the stairs. The reception, restaurant and lounge areas were spotless and modern, the ambience was very pleasant.
I only had one breakfast due to being up and away early , it is a buffet style and was sufficient for me as I don't normally eat breakfast. Herring gulls apart , there was little noise. In conclusion,I enjoyed my stay.

I'm not a fan of Herring Gulls, they make an awful racket but that's no fault of this lovely hotel and wouldn't prevent me from staying here again. If I do stay again, it will be with my wife and we shall have a sea view room as that will be a leisure stay . I look forward to that day .
Breakfast was good location was handy
You have to ask for your room to be cleaned and new towels we were there for 4 nights and the bed sheets were not change despite it being over 35 degrees
i liked the staff! they were lovely! and the tv when to worked!
the bed, rock hard. the bathtub flimsy like it was going to fall through! everything was super old and horrible! i felt asif i was in a bail hostel!

The hotel bar and dining room was really good
Tiredness of the hotel, lack of car parking and if you did and pay for it you couldn't go out because staff would allow others to park. Continental breakfast was lovely but English breakfast disappointing with nearly raw bacon and cheap quality sausages. Also strong smell of weed coming in through room. Room itself was small and very tired

The room had mould on the walls and smelt damp. The room was dirty. The bathroom had black mould and was dirty. We had a room in the basement which are specifically for people with pets. But no reason for it to be dirty.
Location
We were put in basement area of hotel. For 95 pounds I would expected a better room for the price. The windows was full of cobwebs and there was splattered bugs on the wall and quite a few live ones to. It smelt of damp and the hall way to the room was full of flies and smelt More of damp going towards the room. The carpet in the room was quite disgusting full of stains. My honest opinion the location is great but the hotel could do with a serious make over. And the bathroom was full of other previous guest hair
Location and dining room staff were friendly.
Shower pressure was very poor. Masses of hair clogging shower drain. Mentioned at reception but nothing was done about it. We left a new sheet we only purchased a few days ago and requested they post to another address in Wales. We would cover the postage. They would not do that for us.
Disappointing service I would not recommend or return after this experience.
