I did not realise that this was a hotel that took coaches therefore it was very crowded, dinner was set and a lacarte not available. Breakfast finished at 08.30, so I missed out I thought it was 09.30.
Staff were excellent. Facilities were plentiful with large communal areas. Rooms comfy, warm with bathroom fairly modern.
Check in was very smooth and friendly staff. The room had everything needed for a short break. Dinner was lovely and the entertainment was fine. All in all we would stay again.
The staff was professional and polite but a bit overwhelmed. We were on the 5th floor. I wish we had access to an elevator. In the morning for breakfast there were a lot of tables not cleared and no direction from staff that was coming in and out it. The buffet was mostly empty and no plates. It wasn't until we sat at a dirty table that staff recognized our need and directed us to a completely different area that had more tables that were clean and ready and a buffet that had more food available.
The property is in a beautiful position next to the Loch Long with a magnificent view of the hills. Could be more outside seating. Entrance hall to room was horrible, and strong smell of smoke. The bedroom was above the kitchen. There was a continuous noise and smell. The bathroom was not clean and no water pressure in shower.
Unhelpful lady at check in. Old and shabby hotel. Bartenders were very friendly. Beautiful view.
The hotel is in a disgrace of maintenance m.
Carpets a disgrace, thirty and need of rep
Nice views. Hotel needs lots of maintenance
The room was nice. Clean and tidy. And the Loch view is just amazing. Breakfast was not that great, very less options considering the price.
Stayed here for one night. Great atmosphere. Beautiful area. Staff are friendly
Overall a nice stay...the only thing that let this hotel down was the food.16 pounds for 4 unheated halumi fries with a bit of salad and a vegetable tart with 4 undercooked potatoes.Would return but eat elsewhere.
Staff were excellent in accommodating my needs , especially as i had a suprise for my sisters 50th birthday In the dining room the staff were all excellent and assisted in my sister’s suprise … ( Me wearing a wig) :)
Thank you to all the staff at the Claymore Hotel for making my Sisters and her London friends trip such a memorable experience
Arrochar is a very beautiful and hotel is at premier location to explore the town. Beautiful scenery all around the property. Food was great & I enjoyed my stay!
Hotel was geared for coach parties of senior citizens. The rooms and the public areas felt tired. The breakfast was like a canteen with limited choice and poor quality food.. The side of the bath fell off when I opened the bedroom window which suggested some dodgy bathroom plumming. for the money (£120 a night) i would have expected a bit better but Scotland's hotels are now so eye wateringly expensive I guess this is the norm.
Outdated
Room and surrounds OK. Could not book in for a meal. Had to go elsewhere to dine. Staff OK.
This place gives the impression, "wow, we are in Scotland!"
The property sits in nice grounds, with nice views over the loch for front-facing bedrooms.
The dining menu was limited and the bedroom and bathroom were not clean. Interior paint was scratched in places. I would not imagine American visitors would be happy about the lack of Jack Daniel's in the bar.
The Claymore is without doubt the dirtiest hotel we have ever stayed in.
A bit of a busman’s hotel
Good atmosphere but the other guests smiling at the front door beside the No smoking sign
And loud guests
But hotel views a must
The staff were very helpful 🙏🙏
