Central location but overpriced for my stay

Cons:

Struggled with getting suitcases into the building, two flights of steps to negotiate.
Chaotic breakfast. Although plenty of choice, our preference was scrambled eggs which were cold and sloppy.
No kettle in bedroom initially, realised that you could borrow one, but only discovered through reading hotel reviews.
Overpriced, seems much cheaper if you book closer to your travel dates.
Large crack in sink.
Assumption that everyone is technically minded.
Beds not that comfortable - hard.

The property is relatively expensive compared to similar properties in Helsinki. Not value fir money
Pros:

Breakfast options were good. The location is good.

Cons:

Poor clealiness. The daily room cleaning was hardly done. This is the first hotel which does not provide kettle to warm water and have tea/coffee in the room. Have never seen this in any if hotels during my travel.

Entry stairs had no handrail making it difficult to get cases up, there was a lift located on left hand side of entrance door but no signage and not very obvious.

Inviting and Comfortable
Pros:

It was so nice getting onto the train at the airport to the Central Station, walk around the corner and get to the Scandic. Very clean and inviting when you first step in, the front staff were very helpful and the bar staff were great. Our room was nice and comfortable, and our view was out to the bus terminal. Restaurants and Expresso coffee shops across the street. Close walking to most things to see, Hop On Hop Off Bus stop close and connection transit everywhere. Also the sauna was very clean. We would stay here again.

Enjoyable stay
Pros:

I just had the one night stay on my way from Iceland to Thailand, but really enjoyed this hotel. Staff are friendly, efficient and helpful. The room is very comfortable and clean, including the bathroom and it is conveniently located next to the railway station and within easy walking distance of most things on central Helsinki. I took a superior room and was very satisfied with it. Would love to have been able to stay there much longer.
