It was easy to find and peaceful.
Wish the beach was closer and laugh out loud!
The lady at the front desk was kind, and helpful. She remembered us from 3 weeks ago when we stopped there at the beginning of our trip. She tried to help us. Also, the bed was comfortable and I was able to get a good night sleep.
The bathroom was filthy. The floor was sticky, the wall by the commode had stains, and the shower had debris on the floor. Unfortunately, there were no other rooms available due to a wedding.
Cleanliness
I checked into this hotel for a work trip and was assigned a room that was already occupied.
I unlocked the door, entered, and immediately saw another guest’s suitcase, shopping bags, and Starbucks coffee. I also believed I heard running water and assumed she was in the bathroom, so I turned around and left immediately. As a woman traveling alone for work, it was genuinely frightening to realize I had just been sent into another guest’s room.
I went back downstairs and told the front desk someone was already in the room I had just been assigned. After several minutes, I was given a different room. As I returned upstairs, I then watched the manager/associate who checked me in and a security guard enter the occupied room. When they exited, they discussed the woman’s belongings and suitcase in the hallway while trying to figure out who was actually assigned to it. The associate stated that it was a woman’s belongings in the suitcase.
This was not a small mistake. It was a serious failure in guest safety and privacy for both of us. If the hotel could send a complete stranger into her room, what was stopping them from sending a stranger into mine? I barely slept that night because I no longer felt safe there.
What happened afterward made it worse. No one addressed it that night, although I reached out immediately. I had to follow up with the hotel myself to explain how serious it was. The first response I received was dismissive and inadequate. Only after I pushed the issue did I receive a reply acknowledging the seriousness of the incident and promising a follow up after an internal review. That follow up never came. What I did receive were repeated emails asking me to leave a review of my stay.
I travel frequently for work and spend many nights in hotels. This was my first stay at a Courtyard, and based on both the incident itself and the hotel’s handling of it afterward, it will absolutely be my last.
Everything was great. Customer service and the staff that checked us in was awesome . Great personality
