Towels shortage!!!!!!
Pros:

A modern look in the room. Shower was nice

Cons:

The room wasnt ready at check-in, the front desk person did not inform us about the location of the pool or breakfast area and times. There was no towels in the pool area and when we asked about towels they said there was a towels shortage but still did not offer other towels. We stayed for two nights and on our stay over day the room was not cleaned when we were out? We did not return until after 2 PM and it was still not clean. We asked for towels to be exchange they said they would bring towels when they had some. When went to the pool and when we got back the new towels were there but only two bath towels when there was three of us. The food for breakfast was not great the only thing that was good was the waffles.

Probably would come back because the staff was so accommodating but too much dog hair everywhere.
Pros:

It was close to everything. It was in a quiet neighborhood. We felt very safe walking at night even.

Cons:

Didn’t know it was dog friendly. Dog hair everywhere in both rooms we stayed in

I had such an unexpectedly wonderful experience at Hampton Inn & Suites Portland/Tigard that I felt compelled to share it.

The front desk associate went above and beyond in a way you honestly don’t see very often anymore. She kindly allowed us to print off shipping labels without hesitation, without judgment, and without even knowing whether we were guests. She didn’t make us feel uncomfortable or questioned — she simply saw someone who needed help and chose to help.

That level of genuine kindness and professionalism is rare. In places like this, you might expect policies, pushback, or indifference — but instead, we were met with compassion and generosity. It speaks volumes about her character and about the culture of this hotel.

If I could give her 10 stars, I absolutely would. She represents the kind of hospitality that truly makes a difference. Hampton Inn has themselves a great employee — and that kind of service does not go unnoticed.
