Incredible stay! Clean room with a great view and comfortable bed! Friendly and helpful staff. Susie in the bar/restaurant was attentive and friendly and made our dining experiences memorable - we will definitely return!
I have stayed at the Forester several times now and always look forward to my monthly trips. Rooms are clean and modern, the gym is great and the restaurant is terrific! The staff is always friendly and helpful. Highly recommend.
Greetings. Nice hotel, very clean, staff and front desk was pleasant. Would stay here again
I was at this location for 3 weeks for business. The location is perfectly located right off the interstate. The staff were always attentive and professional. The highlight was the restaurant Oaken. They had a great menu, an phenomenal staff. Susie, Kyle, and Benito are a great team backed up by management that aren’t afraid to hustle when needed. Being from the New England area, I had to try their corn/clam chowder, it was a home run. I pretty much ate there every night and enjoyed it. I was able to expense to my room and the invoice at the end of 3 weeks was spot on. They do have a happy hour Thursday-Sunday I believe and also a rewards program for the restaurant. I signed up but haven’t figured out quite how it works. Thank you to all the great staff, you made my 3 weeks of work feel more like a vacation once I got back to the Forrester, and enjoyed the mezcal margarita!
Phenomenal stay at a great location. Staff were amazing especially Nick at checkin and Susie at bar. Lobby restaurant is amazing. Great coffee in the mornings.
I stay here all the time, the staff is so friendly and kind. Very good coffee and breakfast !
Location was 10-15 mins away from corporate office depending on traffic. Atmosphere is business casual, relaxed, but not loud or uncomfortable. Restauran R easily accessible from lobby. Front desk personnel always available. Room was excellent - clean, (wood floors which I love!). Bed made with precision. Room temperature easily adjusted. They've added bathrobes and slippers plus a steamer which really helped after unpacking. Food was great - highly recommend the braised short ribs on the menu - they never disappoint!
Wonderful experience from start to finish! Would highly recommend this hotel to everyone!
I had a great stay at The Forester during my AbbVie training trip in Chicago. The hotel was extremely clean, modern, and comfortable, which made it a perfect place to unwind after long days of training.
The staff was welcoming and professional, and check-in and check-out were very smooth. My room was quiet, well-designed, and had everything I needed to stay productive and relaxed during the trip.
The location was also very convenient for getting to AbbVie’s offices, and there were plenty of good dining options nearby. Overall, it was a great experience and I would absolutely stay here again for future work trips.
My experience at the hotel Forester was wonderful. The property is beautiful, clean, the bed and pillows are amazingly comfortable. Even the in-room amenities are great. Service was phenomenal. Onsite restaurant is also great. I’m looking forward to the next opportunity to stay here. HIGHLY recommended for sure
Great hotel! Everything was better than expected. Got a great value on our points too.
Room was clean, food was great from the restaurant and all the staff were very friendly and accommodating.
Modern, clean, well lit property. Loved rooms and loved the food. Thank you for room service! Caution: beds are soft not ideal for me yet bedding very nice, clean.
The hotel is perfectly located and very nice. Added extra secure elevator and staff was fantastic. We would stay here again and the food in the restaurant is excellent.
With a nightly cost of $300, one would expect this hotel to be above average. It’s is nothing more than 3 star hotel with an onsite restaurant and bar. The room amenities are lacking and the beds are right next to the window, where sounds from outdoors can be easily heard. The staff, however, is very friendly. I do not feel it justifies the premium cost.
For a road warrior like me, The Forester is a godsend: from Nick and Lukas at the front desk to the housekeeping and management team, this property has impressed. The rooms are clean, great pillows and in-room espresso maker.
Most importantly, Susie at The Oaken restaurant makes this hotel a home away from home. She remembers my dinner order, asks me about my kids, and has helped this traveler not feel alone. I will continue to choose Hyatt because of Susie and the amazing team at this hotel.
When you visit Chicago, go see the team at the Forrester. They won’t disappoint.
Clean comfortable friendly and efficient staff. Great option for business travel and a nice cut above some of the other options in the area. Especially liked the features in room of a steamer, phone charging stations at both desk and bedside, and Nespresso machines.
2 minor nits
- odd at this price bracket that they didn’t offer a bottle or two of comped water or offer at desk on arrival after a hard day of travel. Seems bush league not to have that amenity which is standard at other properties at this price point. Made me feel like I was being upsold to use the coffee maker if I had to use the fancy 8 dollar bottle.
- really hated the scent profile of the soaps and shampoos. Weird perfume scent I did not want to be carrying into meetings. So bring your own if that kind of thing bothers you
But these are minor. Stay was overall very good value.
The location was convenient to everything. The atmosphere was welcoming. The rooms were clean and tidy. There was no noise— very quiet and pleasant. Common areas were clean and well decorated. The service was impeccable. The front desk checking was easy, the housekeepers were delightful and professional, the restaurant was excellent.
This was a great experience all the way around. We were in town for our son’s Navy boot camp graduation and this hotel was a perfect location…. 20 min to the Great Lakes Naval base and 40 ish min into Chicago. The hotel was lovely, safe location, very clean and the staff were all so friendly and helpful! The hotel restaurant was also very good.
If we ever have a reason to visit here again, we will definitely be staying at the Forester!
I love this hotel !! We used to stay at Dear Path Inn and this is on par with that level of quality although a bit more modern. The food at the restaurant called Oaken is delicious and their brunch is fantastic. I would go to Oaken to eat even if not starting at the hotel. We are Lake Forest College parents and this hotel has good proximity to the college.
