Extremely clean and comfortable room. Nepresso coffee in rooms a plus. Easy access to Lake Bluff and Lake Forest but definitely in the middle of office parks. A bit spendy for the atmosphere.

Excellent hotel in a nice location north of Chicago. The staff were very attentive and super nice. The hotel is clean and well kept. We didn't try any food or beverage but it looked great and was always busy, which is a good sign.

Very nice quiet area, nice opportunity for quiet walks around the hotel. The hotel itself looks nice and chic. However, the actual room looks like a Hyatt Place which was kind of dissapointing as the hotel calls itself Unscripted by Hyatt.
Definitely a smaller room of Hyatt Place type. Terrible coffee maker that looks fancy, also the shower is not very good, weird shower head and weak water pressure. The walls are thin, and you are able to hear conversations from adjacent rooms. I suppose I was lucky enough to have considerate neighbors as everyone quieted down for the night time.
The elevator requires key to activate and it is not easy to do! I have passed my floor on multiple occassions and I have seen other people experience that as well.
The restaraunt seems nice, the breakfast was good.

We stay here yearly for business meetings, great choice.

I have stayed in hotels all over the world and rarely have as great an experience as we did at The Forrester. Kudos to everyone from the front desk to the housekeeping and restaurant staff. Perfect weekend!

My second experience at The Forester Hotel reminded me why I returned.

The staff are attentive, the food is delicious, the property is pristine and the location is spectacular if you intend to spend time time on business or pleasure in the Lake Forest area.

My wife and I enjoyed a great nature preserve walk at Middlefork Savanna, easy access to restaurants, shopping, freeways and the beautiful quaint downtown of Lake Forest and adjacent Lake Bluff.

I wanted to write to commend the people and the place of The Forester Hotel. They have earned my loyalty and one person deserves special mention: Marisa Gonzalez.

Marisa is a "Guest Services Representative" who will undoubtedly be running the entire operation before too long (and likely owning one or more hotels in her career based on the kind, caring, competent, conscientious and unassuming ways in which she so graciously served me in my time(s) of need.

I was a bit flustered in preparing to officiate at the funeral of my good friend and in a time crunch, nothing seemed to be going quite as I had anticipated. Yet Marisa calmly and most graciously took the time necessary to make sure that I had everything I needed and never made me feel like I was a bother even after the third and fourth request for assistance. Rather she acted as if it was her shear delight to be able to assist me.

It is rare to find an elite professional no matter the field, but in Marissa Gonzalez, The Forrester Hotel has got a young superstar on their hands. I am forever grateful that for an early Saturday morning in June of 2026 that I was able to rub shoulders with a great one.

This is a very nice area and place to stay, centrally located and easily accessible to many things. The staff were friendly, accommodating and provided excellent service. Our room was bright, modern, clean, and cozy. We had a super comfortable king size bed, large fluffy bath towels and the absolute best bath robe anyone could ever wish for. Oaken, the hotel restaurant was off the charts great with the delicious and creative culinary delights they offered. Some of our favorites included the lasagna, salmon, herbed goat cheese & honey, smash burger, signature cocktails, raspberry nectar tea, and oat milk cappuccino. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Highly recommend!

This hotel is very clean. It has a great hotel restaurant. We would definitely stay here again. I liked that they had robes and slippers available in the rooms.

I had a great stay at The Forester Hotel. The hotel was very clean, comfortable, and the staff were incredibly accommodating with my special requests. Their attention to detail made this one of the best hotel experiences I've had. I would definitely stay here again.

This is a hotel. It offers a clean room. Nothing else. And therefore, for the cost, it is not worth it. It is most irritating that they do not offer complimentary coffee/tea for late arrival or early departure.

I had a lovely one night stay at the Forester. It is a very active hotel with a lively bar and restaurant and a comfortable bed that provided me with a sound nights sleep. Staff were friendly and the service was good. I enjoyed both of the May specials at the restaurant and saw several other items on the menu that I would like to try next time. I would definitely choose to stay here again on my next trip to the north Chicagoland area. Thanks!

We saw a friend’s play at the Marriott Theatre and picked The Forester Hotel because it was close by. Little did we know that we would be staying in such an amazing hotel. The staff, the room and the restaurant were all excellent!

The hotel was clean, quiet, and had courteous and professional staff. Lukas at the check-in was the one who stood out. Breakfast was good, ordered from the menu. The dinner was good as well. The hotel has a weekend happy hour with decent options and prices.

Honestly, the best overall hotel experience we’ve ever had! The location was nice, not loud or busy at all. The atmosphere was lively, the lobby was filled with laughter and socializing. The lighting and decor was modern and beautiful. The room was also modern, clean, spacious and had a large window making it feel open. The bed was soft but comfortable. The bathroom was a good size for 2 and the storage was helpful for a longer trip. The value was great! The front desk workers, especially Nick…top notch. Friendly, super helpful and courteous. It really made our trip so much better to have a welcoming, clean and fun place to crash each night. The restaurant serves delicious meals!
