Pros:

I won't ever stay in a Moxy again defacto due to checking on process - plenty of other hotels about.

Pros:

Very clean and midern looking.Good location, near high street, train station and shopping. The staff is very friendly, attentive, and supportive to your requests.

Cons:

The room facilities need to be upgraded. There is no closet in the room to hang jackets and clothes. The clothes have to hang on the wall, which is not good. There is no table or chairs in the room. No facility to work or sit in the room. The provided stools are not comfortable.
It would be great to have a mini fridge in the room. We couldn't keep our fruits, cheese, and coffee cream in the room and had to request reception for help. There is no electrical outlet in the bathroom for the hair dryer or shaver. The stay can be made great if some attention is paid to these small things.

Pros:

The staff were very helpful as we took part in a charity bike ride overnight and they helped us store our bikes in their bike store at the back of the hotel which was a great help to us.

Pros:

Wonderful hotel! Breakfast was awesome and dinner menu was affordable for a night in!

Cons:

The third night there we had a party next door that started at 12:30 in the night and went until 4:30 in the morning with no way to notify the front desk. Besides getting out of bed getting dressed, we just enjoy. For your information, there is a phone in that stairwell that you can call the front desk and get assistance for troublesome things such as that, but it was a great hotel that just happens sometimes 😀

Interesting, smells great comfy and fun
Pros:

So unique,
Well managed, clean. Different,
And smells amazing, even the lift!
Interesting and fun,
It has everything. Great prices included.
Can’t wait to return.
Parking over the road very reasonable.
Perfectly amazing. 🩷
Hairdryer and umbrellas made me love you more. But not more than the smell in the lift! 🩷

Style over Substance—Moxy Slough misses the mark
Pros:

Review: Style over Substance—Moxy Slough misses the mark
Rating: ★★☆☆☆ (2.5/5)

I’ve stayed at several Moxy properties across the UK, and usually, you know exactly what you’re getting: a high-energy lobby and great tech. Unfortunately, the Moxy Slough feels like a watered-down version of the brand that has stripped away the very things that make it worth the stay.

"Entertainment" from the Dark Ages

Moxy markets itself to a tech-savvy crowd, yet the casting service on the TVs has been disabled. With incredibly limited channels (which freeze!) and no radio option, the entertainment is actually worse than a 1990s-style hotel room. Even the Wi-Fi is far from the "furiously fast" speeds promised by the brand; I clocked it at a mediocre 43.5 Mbps, which is stable enough for basic tasks, but hardly meeting the brand's own high-speed hype.

Poor Sleep & Missing Essentials

The stay was physically uncomfortable. The room was far too hot, and the temperature control was inadequate. Furthermore, I was disappointed to find only one pillow supplied per person. Why is it that a budget brand like Premier Inn provides two pillows as standard, yet Marriott (a supposedly "superior" global brand) skimps on basic comfort?

Design Quirks

The layout is a bit of a head-scratcher; the cable for the kettle doesn't even reach the socket comfortably. On the plus side, the bathroom was perfectly fine and the towels were of good quality, which saved the room from being a total disappointment.

Lacking the Moxy Soul

If you’re expecting the vibrant hangouts found at properties like Moxy Milton Keynes, prepare to be underwhelmed. You still check in at the bar, but without the usual energy, it feels less like a "funky" experience and more like a functional lobby relying entirely on its 'Thunderbirds' theme for personality.

The Verdict:

The basics (like the bathroom) are fine, but the "Moxy experience" is missing. When a budget chain beats a Marriott brand on sleep quality and tech, the "cool" branding starts to feel very thin. It’s an okay place to crash, but it doesn't live up to the Moxy name.
