Breakfast was excellent, a variety of fresh vegetables, cheeses and pastries.
The staff are really lovely and welcoming which is a bonus and it’s a very affordable, clean, boutique style hotel with a limited number of rooms. The view from our room was fabulous as we had a sea and city view of Izmir.
The Kameralti Market is a 15 min walk down the hill from the hotel but easy to access.
Climbing narrow stairs up to our room as there is no lift.
The paint needed work on the interior of the building, the doors more specifically.
No kettle in the room.
Staff and host particularly were fantastic. Really helpful and took great care of me and made it such a special stay!

Variante hotel is a fantastic family place located in the old Turkish authentic house. The service was amazing especially I could recommend a typical Turkish breakfast on the terrace with a view to the seaside! The staff was amazing and made sure we felt as at home! The hotel is located next to the old town and a couple of minutes walking from public transportation stops.

Amazing historical boutique hotel!
My room had such a beautiful view and was very comfortable. The staff were great. The location is a short walk to the museum, shops, and port. I hope to stay at Variante again soon. One thing: if you are arriving from the metro (Konak Station) you will walk up very steep hills to get to the hotel. It is a good workout!

The hostess was very nice and helpful… the location is great and very close to many sightseeing spots … our room had a balcony with a nice view … you can experience of staying in a beautiful old historical building
All was fine … I can’t say something bad,just as a notice; the room had not a mirror in room , there was just a mirror in bathroom… there was no bin inside the room … the room is not that much spacious that you can open two luggages inside
Autentic small hotel in a great location. Exceptional feeling. I was treated as a family guest. Room with sea view have a great balcony. Breakfast is being served in a small cafe with the same great view. It was pleasure to be there.

Comfortable room, excellent location (across the street from a bus stop, a 15-minute walk to Kemeraltı, and a few blocks away from the archaeological museum), very welcoming, friendly, and attentive staff, delicious traditional Turkish breakfast, and fantastic views of the harbor from my room and the cafe. The air-conditioning unit worked very well too. I’ll be back!
To enjoy the fantastic views that the hotel offers, you have to hike up a hill. But don’t worry! Buses and taxis can help you here.
The hotel is very nice, set in an old house between terraced houses, perfectly renovated and full of charm. My room had a nice terrace and an extraordinary view of the city. The café, where an extraordinary Turkish-style breakfast is served, is bright and very well decorated. The staff is very young and super friendly. The room is perfectly clean and the bed very comfortable. In short, kudos to the architect, the manager and the owner!
Certain strengths are sometimes paid for. You know, life is never free :) In this case, you have a wonderful view, putting up with a bit of traffic noise. Take this into account if you are sensitive or suffer from insomnia and book an interior room: the rooms are super quiet.
I suggest the hotel provide sleep masks: in my room, which is bright and well exposed, the curtains are not enough to keep it dark after the early hours of the morning. Just add it to the lovely courtesy kit and everything would be perfect.
Fantastic property. Worth every penny. Perfectly located and very friendly. The property is charming and great for a couple of nights and explore the city. I would definitely return and stay here.
