Pros:

The location in the historic center of Hillsborough, is excellent. The restoration is very attractive. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. The restaurant at the hotel has excellent food, rivalling some of the best modern southern cuisine in my home town of Charleston. The prices of both the hotel and restaurant were more reasonable than I would have expected.

Cons:

There is only street parking, and it could be blocks away.

Wonderful stay in a beautiful historic Inn
Pros:

The property was absolutely beautiful in such a quaint, historic town. The rooms were spacious, beautifully decorated and comfortable! The Inn had a wonderful bar and restaurant on site and was located near the center of town with multiple restaurants and shops.

Cons:

Nothing at all! It was wonderful!

love the palpable history, beautiful accommodations, front porches and chairs, proximity to all things downtown . . . especially food, bookstore, ice cream, coffee . . .

Cons:

would be really nice to have microwave and ice machine accessible to guests . . . felt like such a bother and also awkward, less convenient to have to get a staff member to help with each of these things and repeatedly

also . . . blankets . . . extra . . . would make stay so much cozier

Emaculate room, great renovations, quiet. Would book again if visiting the area in a heartbeat.

Beautiful peaceful setting and location for college graduation stay at The Colonial.
Pros:

Gardens, great location to local restaurants and art shops. Old home luxury feel.

Cons:

All marks off were due to room very hot/no air movement. No fan on even though monitor on wall read temp and fan on-outdoor in 70s much cooler than inside our room. “Muffins and fruit” for breakfast with coffee were sparse for a place that has bar/restaurant and speaks of luxury and beautiful morning outdoor coffee/reading/work garden tree lined paths.
