This is a great spot if you’re looking to spend some time in Amelia without breaking the bank. The place is clean, the rooms are bright and spacious, the pool and hot tub are amazing. It’s not exactly a resort, but man, it sure does feel like it at times. Tons of families, so if you’re coming for an adult getaway, this is not it, but we were on spring break with our 12 and 13 year olds and they really enjoyed it. Tiki Bar by the pool, Starbucks inside the lobby, and tons of sitting areas throughout the first floor for sitting and chatting, playing cards, talking on the phone, etc. Killer restaurants nearby as well (highly recommend SaltLife and Sandbar!!), and definitely walking distance to the oceanfront. We didn’t use these, but there was a HUGE playground for little kids nearby and also a putt-putt golf area that had lights. No shortage of things to do if you’re staying for a couple days.
Fitness room was nothing to write home about. It was mostly cardio machines, with almost no weights. Not the end of the world, but my son and I were hoping to lift and ended up taking a rain check. Elevators are pretty slow for the number of people in the hotel, but also clean and nice. If I’m nitpicking, they need more help at the Starbucks/breakfast bar inside the lobby. One sweet woman was taking orders, making food, delivering it inside. They did have a runner for bringing food out to the pool.
I hosted a four-day corporate event at the Courtyard in March. I could not have been more pleased with the experience. My room was big, comfortable, clean, and quiet. I'm not sure how old this place is, but it had that "new hotel feeling." Really nice.
Overall, the staff was friendly and exceedingly helpful. The event/catering staff members were excellent. Everything went exactly as planned, and they always seemed available if there was question or last-minute request. Could not have been better! (Honestly, the Omni Amelia Island could learn a thing or two.)
Finally, I love the location of this hotel. It's a quick one block walk to beach, and I enjoyed a beach walk each afternoon when the event ended for the day. It's also a very quick drive into town which offers a range of excellent restaurants. There's also ample, free parking downtown.
This property is in a great location being one block from a fantastic beach and one block from at least two wonderful restaurants. Will definitely return.
Basic amenities did not exist including complimentary coffee bar, which even lower end hotels always have. Yes, Starbucks coffee and a very nice Bistro are right there in the lobby, but not everyone wants to buy multiple cups of coffee all day.
Close to the beach and right across from the state park. Downtown historic area was a straight shot and lots of parking. Our room faced the ocean and had a balcony. Bed was extremely comfortable and there were plenty of outlets/USBs.
Shower pressure was close to non-existent. I finally unscrewed the shower head but even then the stream was like a limp hose.
The place was clean and comfortable
Not right on the beach, but you could still see the ocean
Clean room and clean bedding. Spacious room also. Plenty of towels. Frig & microwave a plus. Appreciated towel service at the pool.
Location is great. Walking distance to two nice restaurants. We also like to go over to Ft Clinch’s beach (better than Main Beach Park). Beautiful, and less busy. Boardwalk shower spot and has very nice bathhouses with bathrooms and changing stalls.
Morning COFFEE is important to me and many. There was no coffee available for us in-room. The hotel was “out”! While they provided two cups free at The Bistro, it was a major inconvenience for one of us to have to dress and go get it first thing in the morning. They made you take both cups at once, and so my 2nd cup got cold.
DO NOT like being charged for parking. Feel taken advantage of.. have to park there. It’s just an outdoor parking lot at the hotel, not a garage - no parking attendant. You use your room key to raise the entrance bar — but that doesn’t provide any special safety or security. It just makes sure only hotel guests use the parking lot. Nearly kept us from booking this hotel.
Our mattress was uncomfortable. My husband, average size, “slept in a hole” on his side.
The rooms are so humid. Have to keep it like a refrigerator to try to get rid of dampness. No way, do towels or swim suits dry overnite. Also- this is a “beach hotel” plus offers a nice pool… and nowhere to hang our towels or swimsuits to dry.
The pool— I don’t mind no lifeguard. But there should be a staff member on duty to monitor kids behaviors. Dangerous group of pre-teens and teens jumping off the top of the fountain. While the problem is irresponsible parents, the risk and liability of injury falls on the hotel. This is also very uncomfortable for other hotel guests to watch. What a shame not to enjoy your beautiful pool area.
It is a big hotel with nice space.Nice beds
It is two hotels and you do not know which hotel you are in.One has free breakfast, the other you pay for breakfast.
Location, close to beach
The room I booked said 2 queen beds and a pull-out sofa. It was after I booked the room that I received an email saying property may not have pull-out sofa. Had to get a air mattress for my kid to sleep on.
