SpringHill Suites by Marriott Amelia Island

DIRTY FILTHY had mold growing in the shower. Our room was NOT CLEANED even 1 time the entire time we were there.
When I say FILTHY it was ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING!
The pool was FILTHY as well. This place was not even 1 star.
The breakfast was good and the lady kept that area really clean and organized BUT that is the only place that was clean 🫣

I was surprised breakfast closes very punctually at 9:30am. Most cruises and vacation hoterls keep breakfast open until 10:30am.

Rooms a little dated and the hotel was not as clean as it should be. The conditioner was empty and body wash did not dispense. The breakfast was average. Having to pay for parking.

No meat was offered at breakfast. Pool was nasty and I didn't feel the price of the room needed to have a charge for parking.

The pool deck closes to early.

Not properly cleaned

I was in line for check in and there was 3 agents. I was up next and the next agent available called the person behind because they knew them without even acknowledging me. After checking , room seemed OK until I opened the fridge. There was an old rotten hot dog in the fridge. Called the front desk and was told to leave it in the hallway and someone would pick it up. Took it out of the fridge, and saw a cockroach in the fridge cabinet. Reported it to the front desk and their response was “oh wow so sorry” . I was not given any option. I would at least expect a response such as “ I’m sorry to heard that, is there anything I can do to accommodate you ?” . Then, opened the pull out couch , and there was a bunch of crumbs. The bathroom had a few dead bugs throughout, mostly flies. I called the front desk for sheets and was told they could not be delivered to the room and I had to go get them. I went down to the front desk, and asked for 2 pillows. They said they could only give me 1 pillow.. ok… later that day, went to their in house pizza joint. I go order a pizza, and the rep says “I’m sorry, someone just placed a large order and it’s going to take at least 1 hour before we can start yours, you should try getting pizza from somewhere else” .. I did not feel like going out so I decided to wait. I then ask the rep “do you guys deliver it to the room?” His answer was “No.” Then I proceeded to ask, “Ok will you give me a call when it’s ready?” And his response was “No. You just have to come back and check if it’s ready” . The pizza ended up being pretty good and worth the wait but it seems like the hotel is understaffed and lack lots of training on customer service.

Room clean up could be better at replacing low toiletries including toilet paper and taking out trash.

I did not like all the dogs in the building. When we arrived and the elevator opened a wet dog came out. the smell was terrible.

Ice cream and pizza store closed on my days visiting. No electrical outlet on one of the nightstands.

Sadly my experience could have been better. There are charges on my card from Springhill that I am not sure of. First of all I paid booking.com for 2 rooms for the weekend. When my daughter checked out, they charged my card for her room. There also now are 2 ...70 dollar charges on my card that I will question tomorrow. I have my receipts for our charges that were paid with my card and not charged to the room. None equaled 70. The room was good but could have been better. The fridge in the room never stays on. You have to reset it every 2 hours! Your drinks never get cold. The shower bottom was dirty looking in both rooms. Bleach is needed badly. The beds are not soft but not extremely hard. All pillows look fluffy but you end up flat before morning. No variety like a resort like hotel should have. My shower leaked on the bathroom floor and we had to keep towels down there. This is while we are taking showers.
The staff at the front showed little concern about the issues. I checked out after my daughter and questioned the charges then for her room as I was checking out. They acknowledge it was a mistake. They seen i done made payment through booking.com. They Stated they would correct it and I would get an email with my receipt of the stay. When I got home, I noticed 2 other charges in the 70 range. This is not good and acceptable. I dont find the staff at the front that friendly beyond check in. I also still have no receipt of the stay.
They need more staff manning the inside bar and pool bar. The pool bar staff did excellent but were under staffed.
This is a great place with a great concept. Im disappointed in the comforts of the rooms and the front staffs lack of concern when you mentioned any thing. Summer time could definitely use more pool bar staff. I may visit again but it honestly will depend on how they handle the charges to my card and show receipts of the other charges that I do not feel are mine and wasnt there on checkout.

Pool needed updating and cleaned! We have been coming for years and the pool needs TLC especially the fountain wall
