The location was good walked downtown. The breakfast was good.

The location. The breakfast was great
The pool was way smaller than what the picture showed. And it was dirty. The sunlight in the morning showed how cloudy the water was and there was a thin layer of green covering the entire walls and floor of the pool. I picked this place because of the pool. My disabled son loves to swim. This was the biggest disappointment

The heater turned on and off all night and kept waking us up.

Our experience there was top shelf. Comfortable rooms and great location
This was our first trip to Marquette, and the only reason I chose the Fairfield Inn over a brand that we’ve stayed at many times, is that several reviewers mentioned how great the breakfast buffet was. Well…I will not be one of those to say the breakfast buffet was amazing, because on the morning we were there, it definitely was NOT amazing. There were cold sausage patties, little egg bites that had no flavor and were also cold, and the oatmeal looked so bad, I didn’t even try it. The potatoes were the best of the hot food…seasoned well and they were actually hot. The only yogurt was Greek, and I know it’s better for me, but I just don’t like it! I made a waffle and it didn’t get cooked all the way through even though it indicated it was done. Other than breakfast…the room was clean, the hotel overall was clean, we slept well, we didn’t work out but went into the gym and it looked great, the pool/spa area is small but since we’d been outside in the rain all day, we didn’t use that either. There’s a partner hotel under construction right next door and the workers blocked access to the parking lot part of the day, so getting in to the property was a little tricky. Overall, it was fine for our one night stay. Next time though, I’ll probably choose the one we’ve used in the past.
