I had a very good experience at this hotel. It's true, as others have noted, that the room is basic overall, however that's what TRU hotels are. You want luxury, find a $500/night hotel. The most important thing to me was that my room was spotless and well cared for with a comfortable bed. I was on the third floor facing the racetrack and it was fun to watch some local vehicles running around the track. The front desk clerk was friendly, courteous and welcoming. I did notice that there was only one wastebasket in the room, located in the bathroom. This seems to be a trend in the hotel business since I have noticed at other hotels I stayed in during the same trip, they also supplied only one wastebasket in the room. I'm not sure what's up with that. Regardless, I will be staying at this same hotel again in January 2026 and will file a follow-up review. Who knows, maybe a different room I'll have a different experience but for now I give it a full 5 stars.
The first thing I noticed when I arrived was the strong air freshener. This was overkill. Not everyone can tolerate something so strong.
The TV remote was a joke. Could never get the channel to turn on. Same with the phone.
The ice machine and bucket was on the main floor which meant that I had to go downstairs to get ice. They said that the only available ice machine is on the 3rd floor but it was out of order. Why don’t they have ice machines on each floor?
Many of the workers are from India and don’t speak English. I tried to explain something to a room attendant and they had to use Google translate to understand what I was saying.
It was pet friendly which was nice.
Loud racing noise from cars on the NASCAR motor track in front.
Sadly I can’t recommend staying here. I’m a Hilton member but this hotel disappointed.
Everything was fine.
Room was nice, very clean with a great view of raceway. Check in went smoothly and clerk was extremely helpful and friendly
Only suggestion would be to put non fall strips in the bathtub
Room was clean and comfortable. Staff was very kind and helpful, great customer service!
This hotel is very noisy and the shower is so slippery it is dangerous.
The price was surprisingly reasonable. The place seems rather new and nicely maintained. The breakfast was much better than most other hotels.
Clean
Very clean
First let me say this was our first stay at a Tru hotel. It is very basic, no closet, no drawers, which was fine for an overnight travel stop. What wasn't fine was the crumbs on the floor, in multiple places, the mold in the shower, a lot of mold on the a/c unit so we would t even use it which made the room uncomfortable. The windows are not double paned so the highway and NASCAR noise was easily heard. Breakfast was fine, the pancakes were actually good.
It was a good stay. Would stay again.
Clean
It's isolated, but inside all is terrific.
We stayed for one night. Check in was easy. The room was clean. It had more wall outlets than expected and mirrors. My wife was happy about that. The lounge area was clean. They do have an outdoor area also. The hotel is situated right next to Dominion Speedway. On this particular Sunday morning the raceway had cars running the road course. My wife didn’t like that. It was a bit noisy for her but I saw fine with it.
Food selection could have been a little better! Only had cinnamon raisin bagels. There were no muffins or strudels. Pancakes were good!
Nice place
The AC Was either too cold, or hot air blowing. The room overlooks I 95, and the traffic was so loud that we couldn't sleep. The TV didn't work, so we couldn't drown out the traffic that way. Guy at the desk was disengaged & not very helpful. They exercise bike was broken.
The room had a beautiful view, the bed was extremely comfortable in the shower left me wanting to stay for more. I would definitely stay here again.
Good service, comfy bed
