Underwhelming for the price you pay. Extremely uncomfortable hard beds.
Pros:

The restaurant had decent options for dinner

Cons:

The bed was extremely uncomfortable. They didn’t really seem to care when I asked for it to be checked because they said they’ll send someone to check if the bed had any faults and no one came. Very expensive for what it is. Location was not ideal.

Nice Hilton. Cold AC!
Pros:

Very friendly management. Nice, modern, clean hotel. My room was hot when I checked in and was not cooling down after waiting some time. I contacted the front desk. Maintenance responded and fixed the situation right away. Then the room was perfect. Cold AC. Decent breakfast. Nice bar with a view.

Modern Hotel with Great Views

Nice hotel, some areas to work on though
Pros:

Really nice rooms, comfortable and well set out, good location

Cons:

Some staff were good, some were borderline rude and acted like they were doing us a favour just by existing 😆 breakfast was expensive and not very good - save your money!

Pros:

Modern and comfortable room.

Cons:

The hotel layout felt very uninviting. Not relaxing… no where to sit and chill. The public areas are purely functional… not place you wish stay once your function is complete, be it checking in or dining.

Excellent hotel in great location with fantastic customer service
Pros:

Excellent hotel with great, consistent customer service. Possibly the cleanest hotel we’ve stayed in.

First time in Costa Rica, we chose the Hilton based upon its location and previous reviews. We were not disappointed.

Our room was very modern, spacious and had a very comfortable bed. The balcony was an added bonus.

Breakfast choice was varied to cater for all preferences. We ate dinner a couple of times during our stay and again the food was excellent.

The bar is modern and combined with the outside deck provides a great environment to relax after a long day exploring the beautiful wildlife and geography of the country,

The gym is modern and has a wide range of equipment.

Without doubt the customer service deserves a special mention. Across the hotel from the guys at the hotel entrance, reception, restaurant and bar staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Management should be proud of the whole team.

Tips
There is a sauna in the changing rooms in the gym.
If you’re a runner then I recommend running in the early morning to avoid the heat of the day. 3 laps of Sabana park is 10k. There is a 400m track in the park as well.
Book a table for breakfast/dinner overlooking the stadium for great views of the city.
Uber is a great way to get to places within a few miles of San Jose. If you’re going further, it’s probably better to book trips with transportation.

A few points
The jacuzzi has been turned into a children’s pool.
The hotel WiFi is excellent however the hotel login portal doesn’t work well if you have a Firestick.

Overall a great stay at the Hilton, should we return to San Jose then we would definitely stay again.
