Sensationell
The location is right in the middle of the city near the restaurants, shopping centres, parks, public transport and more! The staff were very friendly and happy to help, the room was very clean and I had enough to enjoy my trip.
I wouldn’t say disliked, being picky I would have liked a few more machines in the gym but there was still enough to get a full body workout done.
Tutto struttura bellissima pulita cordiali
Fantastic location, helpful friendly staff.
Everything was great
The location is fantastic, right in the centre. The hotel has a beautiful entrance and lounge area, reminds me of grand old Belle Epoque hotels in Brussels and Paris. There is ionly a few parking spaces but we were able to park in front of the hotel. If not there is a car park just over the road. Cocktails were excellent and served in the old bank vault complete with the old secutity boxes and huge safe door. The bedroom was lovely with windows onto the street.
Didn't get offered a welcome drink, though I saw the ice bucket and glasses tantalisingly sat next to reception desk the following day. You have to walk up a grand staircase to the reception on arrival and for some reason we hauled up our own luggage. There are doormen, not sure where they were.
There are coffee and tea facilities in the room but they only provide thimble sized espresso cups. We had to keep asking for bigger cups which the housekeepers would then remove. We learnt to hide them.
The dinner menu was expensive and food average, apart from the creme brule which for some inexplicable reason was huge and served in a massive soup dish.
Walking down the corridor to my room and idly looking out of the window into an internal courtyard I suddenly realised I was looking into other guests bedrooms. If you don't close your curtains you will run the risk of being observed as guests walk along the corridor on the opposite side. Also very gloomy as not much light in this central area.
This comment is subjective as I like a cool room to sleep in. Romanians seem to like their rooms hot. I desperately tried to adjust the thermostat as it hit a tropical 23 C but to no avail so I called Reception. Apparently the heating is "Controlled Centrally". I requested that the thermostat be turned down by Central Control and the room did manage to reach a more temperate 18 C. However next morning, clearly concerned for my welfare, it was already climbing back up to 23 C.
The bar and lounge were stunning and we spent a couple of evenings there, unfortunately the same music was on a repeat loop. I didn't mind it but it was driving my husband mad. On the second evening he stomped off to reception to ask if they could change it. Sadly not, this too was "Controlled Centrally"...from London!
