Beach front access, nearby to shopping areas. Food immediately available (although staff seems rude and in a hurry...never come back to provide refills etc). Overall, will go back a 3rd time.
Great place my favorite in Isla Mujeres
Clean, great view
Our room at Cuxos was really lovely and we had an amazing view. A microwave would have been a nice addition and beware there is no elevator. We were under the impression we could use the lounge chairs on the beach for free (with a tip of course) but were told by the guys working that it was 600 pesos plus a food/beverage requirement. Just next door at The Mayan/Nauti Beach there was only a 600 pesos food/beverage requirement. So for our 2 beach days we went there instead.
This property's main selling aspect is proximity to the beach. The building / rooms is newer / clean. Bathroom shower is nice size walkin. I suggest the property provide a map of how to access the property. This is a common complaint from people who stayed here.
The location was perfect! Right at the end of the North beach so it didn't feel as crowded. The room was very nice and clean. The people at the front desk weren't very friendly or helpful. They emailed us ahead of time and asked when we would be arriving. I gave them a timeframe and when we got there, within that time frame, we had to wait for an hour for someone to check us in. We ended up eating lunch at the bar and sat on the beach until someone showed up. The housekeeping staff was great. All in all I would stay there again.
good location of ocean and beach
Beautiful beach. Our room was on the first floor, on the beach. You couldn't just hang out and look at the ocean from your room. It was blocked by chairs, restaurant and people. No privacy. Stay on upper levels, if possible. I had no idea how important beach towels were. They don't have any. We used our bath towels. We have stayed at 2 other hotels in Isla Mujeres. This one is small and cute. Staff nice. All in all, it was nice.
Great place to stay.. ocean is literally steps away. Would highly recommenx
I loved that this hotel is right on the water!!!
Enjoyable scenery!
Trying to find this place impossible even knowing a couple of locals… you will have to drag your own luggage thru sand… the „front desk“ tho friendly sometimes there sometimes not… guys on the beach that are suppose to serve we’re sitting and on their phones mostly… bed/board stuff stiff… big room, clean and nice… but towels are like gold here trying to get one! But can’t beat the location or view!
This was the first time we stayed in the new hotel. First, there was no safe in our room. You have a TV, Fridge, two towels (no hand towels, wash cloths), soap, and sometimes toilet paper (we ran out and had to get some from our neighbor). The bad: The bed was super uncomfortable. I don’t usually even notice beds but this one was V shaped and the high part was in the center. It was not two pushed together either. It was super uncomfortable. Our room must have been next to the pumps for water because anytime someone used water our room vibrated and we could hear it all. We could hear people above us very well. We also had cockroaches that were coming out of our shower drain. I removed several from our room. Then I noticed they were coming out of the drain and into the corner of the shower. I would bring gum or something to plug the hole…maybe cellophane to put over the shower drain. Our room was cleaned three times in a 10 day stay.
My credit card had fraudulent changes for AeroMexico within a week of booking this hotel. That was the only thing I used it for. 3K in charges that I disputed. I brought cash to pay for the balance of my hotel room. This also happened to us staying at Chi Chi N Charlies. Same property, older hotel, same management. Heads up!
Most hotels rake the seaweed off the beaches..they did a couple days, but mostly left it. Kind of gross to have that around your beach chairs but it did prevent them from selling more chairs to people not staying at the hotel.
The good: We had good pressure and hot water. When the room was cleaned it was done well. It was newer so the shower and bathroom were nice. They gave a free breakfast, although they didn’t tell us, someone at the hotel did. It was two pieces of toast with jam and a modest amount of fruit. The location is great.
BEST FLAN EVER!!!!
FOOD IS GREAT, BUT THE FLAN IS OUTSTANDING, BELIEVE ME.. TRY IT!!
We ate lunch here at the Cuxo's restaurant most days of our vacation.
The Big Charlie, is the best burger around the island. Actually any of the burgers are phenomenal.
1-Ground floor room is constantly exposed to humming from bar/restaurant adjacent, impossible to sleep.
2-Single sliding door window blinds cannot be opened unless you want all by passers to see inside the room, effectively rendering the room a windowless box.
3-Room is literally 20 steps from the kitchen windows from which a strong odor of over used frying oil comes in, until after the kitchen closes.
4-Despite their claims, practically no wi-fi, especially after hours
5-TV in the room doesn’t work especially after hours, since it works (doesn’t work) via wifi
6-Outrageous cocktail and food prices. example: simple margarita is equivalent of $13usd (more expensive than TX in usa)
NEVER AGAIN THIS HOTEL, terrible value.
There are other options nearby both cheaper and better. I wish we knew before we paid
The location is great. The bar right outside is very loud during the day. The continental breakfast consists of coffee, juice and toast or waffle.
Wonderful location! Friendly staff!
Location is the best!! Beautiful!!! This hotel has SO MUCH potential! They need to replace their towels that are all falling apart. Bed sheets are the worst and blankets are so rough and all stained. It feels like you are staying in a hostel. The floors are slo slippery when wet. My friend fell down the stairs and hurt his back. There are NO Beach towels. Staff at CUCOS restaurant need a lot of customer service training. The breakfast is not worth it. You need to go somewhere else to get a nice breakfast.
If these things are improved i would totally stay there again and recommend to anyone. I loved the location! We visit the island several times a year.
Overall our stay went well! The only thing was the continental breakfast was served until 8:30am and only a waffle(waffles was not well cooked) I had to ask the waiter to toast again! and coffee was served. Not the expectation of continental breakfast. I would recommend to go and get breakfast and not even waste your time. Waiting until 8:30am was not worth it.
My stay was perfect the hotel is right in front of the beach. At night the waves sound is magical. Staff is really good and you can't ask for the better spot. The only thing I will complain will be the breakfast. Is a toast or waffle with coffee and juice and the wait it was horrible. Other than that I will go back and stay and eat somewhere else. Is plenty around.
