We love how convenient the hotel is to everything Savannah has to offer and yet is removed and is quiet and peaceful. It is one of our favorite places to stay when visiting Savannah
The hotel was very clean, great room, nice staff and good food. The staff was kind, and my drinks and food were great at the roof top restaurant, which has amazing views of Savannah and the river.
Parker was outstanding professional and courteous. 10/10
Everything about this hotel was fabulous. The service was impeccable, the food was outrageous and the location was great.
Great location…close to shops and restaurants. Room was clean and bed comfy. Breakfast was good (got the French toast for around $16) Will stay again.
This hotel not only met, but exceeded expectations. Their staff is truly the epitome of the hospitality industry. Every employee truly made you feel welcome.
Had a wonderful time and a really nice stay. Thompson was a great hotel and would recommend. Rooms were nice, hotel was great, food at bar Julian was amazing as well.
Lovely downtown hotel on the river with an attentive staff and several amenities.
The price is higher than most hotels in the area but you do get what you pay for here with elegance and comfort in a safe environment. The staff is determined to attend to your every need.
This review is dedicated to the Valets. The service I received was outstanding. On several occasions I left something in the car after it had been parked. Each and every time I needed to get whatever I left the valets were super accommodating. They never even made a face. They actually jogged to the car or allowed me to go and retrieve the items myself. The thing that was impressive was that they never implied they should be tipped. I did but I never felt like I had to. They were courteous and professional and very respectful each and every time!
Thank you!
Came in for a quick staycation! Kevin, Taylor and the whole staff was very helpful and knowledgeable! Mekhi in the house car was awesome!
We truly enjoyed ourselves!
Great option any time you're in Savannah. Removed from the noise of River Street, but still fairly walkable to most of the city (albeit a bit of a hike for those who are less mobile). The Happy Hour at the Bar by Fleeting is one of the best in the city, and the views from the rooftop bar are amazing. Great option if you are bringing a dog as they are pet friendly and do not charge a pet fee (given this is a 5-star hotel, I appreciate not nickel and diming the guests when you're already payiing $300+ a night for the room. They always take care of World of Hyatt members as well. Truly an example of you get what you pay for from the quality of the room, to the friendliness of the staff, to the courtesy of your fellow guests. Would 100% recommend The Thompson to anyone looking for a great weekend in Savannah!
Underwhelmed with the customer service and cleanliness/readiness of our room and the lobby bathroom. Service did not meet expectations with the exception of the house car driver.
Had an excellent time at the Thompson Savannah. About a 10-minute walk from the Historic District. We had an amazing experience and great customer service the whole time. The family and I will definitely be staying here when we go back.
New and impressive hotel. My wife and I stayed a night to break up a road trip. As a Hyatt member, we received a free room upgrade and waived fees. The elevators were fast and efficient. The rooms were incredibly clean with modern finishes. Julian bar rooftop has great cocktails and a solid pizza. 10 min walking distance to dozens of bars and restaurants in historic downtown. Honestly nothing negative to say about this hotel. Highly recommend.
The best hotel in Savannah this was the second time staying at this hotel and it’s absolutely amazing the staff goes above and beyond and makes me feel welcomed , they are the best thing at the hotel
Beautiful property in the heart of downtown Savannah. Not a whole lot around since the area is being developed but still, very pretty. Unfortunately flight got in late so I didn’t get to experience much in my one night stay, but made the start of my vacation excellent
Kevin was awesome! Very attentive!
We had an enjoyable stay overall at the Thompson Savannah. The standout was the friendliness of the staff. Everyone we encountered—from the front desk at check-in to the valet team—was welcoming, professional, and eager to help. We also appreciated the complimentary house car service, which will take guests within a three-mile radius when available. We were able to use it once, and it was a wonderful convenience.
Breakfast service was warm and friendly, though a bit slower than I would have preferred since I was eager to get out and explore each morning.
The biggest disappointment was the pool. It’s quite small, and by the afternoon it became very murky from sunscreen and heavy use by families with children. It didn’t feel inviting enough to use.
The location is pleasant and along the river, but it is a bit of a walk to many of Savannah’s main attractions. In the summer heat and humidity, that distance can feel longer than expected.
Despite those drawbacks, we enjoyed our stay. The exceptional service and hospitality made a positive impression, and we would consider staying here again.
