We loved the hotel. It has a very interesting circular design. The rooms were immaculate, comfortable and very well equipped. Every member of staff that we had dealings with was very friendly and obliging.
N/A
The breakfast was great, but the coffee machine was broken and we were charged for the coffees. Nobody told us we would be charged for the coffees.
Location was handy to public transport.
We didn't like getting charged for the coffees when your coffee machine was broken and being charged for a complimentary bottle if white wine for my partner's 60th birthday, when we were told by staff that it was on them. Why charge $70.70 for coffees and white wine?
Staff were great, location good, food excellent (but) and fabulous views from restaurant.
Both the rooftop bar and restaurant were a little too small to accommodate guests in a hotel that size.
Food was excellent but somewhat over priced and why why was did you have to use a coffee machine at breakfast in a 5 star hotel!!
Everything
Nothing
Bed was comfortable however for a 5 star property was a dog box room which allowed noise from next door come through!
Parking, parking, parking. There was NO mentioned of a $50 valet parking charge per day at booking however the site advertises parking! Total misrepresentation and was told plenty of street parking everyday… total crap, absolutely zero parking and if you get a park within 2 blocks you did well!! Second, without notice the bar was closed on one of our nights for a function, no notice at time of booking either! 5 star perhaps 3 start behaviour at best. Thirdly our neighbours decided to have a party at 1am, complaint made go desk, nothing happened!! I’ll say it again NOT 5 start behaviour and parking, parking is crap!
Very close to the Civic Theatre and Harbour restaurants.
Only valet parking available- it was an unexpected extra cost and expensive
We loved the distance to every thing. It was our first stay in Newcastle and we were there for my birthday to see FOOTLOOSE. We couldn’t have chosen a better hotel.
We didn’t like that we got back to our hotel, not too late! We then couldn’t sleep as we had some bar below and adjacent to us. The music played very late for us. I’m a party animal from way back, but we should be able to go to our room and sleep. We were in room 209.
Location, modern facilities
All good
Great location, Great food, Quite & peaceful rooms, lovely staff.
Short stay
We were not able to enjoy the breakfast as we needed to check out early. But having enjoyed the buffet previously, it was exceptional.
It was a shame there was no ability to help us with an early breakfast option at all.
The location was good.
The reception staff and coffee staff were very nice and helpful.
The carpet square in the room needed replacing badly. It basically looked like a crime scene.
When we decided to have dinner in one of the rooftop restaurants we noticed a sign that said they were closed to the public. Several other guests told us that they received text messages to advise of the restaurants closures the day before they checked in. We didn’t receive one and had to just have a snack in the coffee shop.
The breakfast was disappointing and not worth the money. No tables were cleared after each course and staff we just walking around. Bad service.
We did not pay the $50 parking fee.
