Mixed feelings. Don’t think I’d choose this hotel
Pros:

It was clean. The room was very nice. The room and hotel seemed updated.

Cons:

It had random scary people walking through the property and parking lot. It did not feel completely safe. There were people outside the back looking into the windows. Drugged out people walking through the parking lot
When I went to check in, the person was a little rude. They just looked at me and basically said, what do you want. I asked nicely to check in, they were a little rude about it. Not sure if that person was having a bad day. They were friendly when I checked out. It was the first time I had ever been confronted with a rude person while checking into a hotel. I am not a confrontational person so it made me super uncomfortable.
Everyone else was friendly.

Had to interrupt the check in clerk from her browsing on her cell phone. No greeting or welcome. Same with checking out.

Breakfast options were good.

Cons:

The check out staff was unpleasant, charged us for a service animal and called the police on us when we tried to tell them they couldn't charge us for a service animal. They had parties in the parking lot and behind the hotel all night long. Yelling in the hallways, doors slamming all night long. It was party central until 4:30am. Not a restful place. Especially if you are a veteran with ptsd.

The stay was great. booking.com was terrible and lost you a long term customer.

I did not like any of it.

Cons:

The person at booking.com made three mistakes. 1. Reserved the wrong date - October 3rd. 2. Did not reserve the correct dates Sept. 11th and 12th. 3. Refuse to refund my money even though it was their mistakes. 4. Did not return my phone calls. 5. Admitted it was their mistake. 6. Still refuse to refund the $122.88. I had to call the Benton Harbor manager Jack and set up the correct reservation which he did at the correct date and time on Sept. 11th and 12th., which I paid for in full. So every chance I get I have told a lot of people and spammed the internet not to ever use booking.com as they are a rip off.
