Canopy By Hilton Portland Waterfront

The hotel is beautiful, very well located, and overall very pleasant. We especially enjoyed the breakfast, and the coffee was particularly good.

From the moment Chelsea greeted us, to meeting Madison, the assistant manger, EVERYONE at this property made my wife and me feel as if we were THE most important people on earth. I will be staying here again on our next extended stay; I strongly suggest you do, as well. This is the true meaning of customer service and satisfaction.

I enjoyed the Canopy Waterfront, but it was primarily because I just needed to be in Portland.

One night stay, and I would almost certainly stay again and ideally for longer. However, as much as I liked it, it was entirely the location not the hotel itself that made me happy.

Room was clean and modern but looked over a parking lot. I absolutely understand and respect that waterview rooms will go at a premium but something about being in Portland and looking at asphalt honestly wrecks it.

Bike use is a huge positive! I grabbed a bike and went out to the islands and you absoutely need to do the same, however take some pride in the bikes, grease the gears and make sure the shifters work (mine did not).

Nice hotel, but entirely forgettable.

The room was amazing! Very clean and comfortable. I also used the gym and enjoyed it very much.

I stayed just one night at this Canopy by Hilton in Portland and would highly recommend it. My stay was easy and service was great. My first decision was parking and after weighing the options of parking in a lot next door or taking advantage of valet parking ( which I never do), I decided on valet and it couldn't have been easier. Also, I had to be back on the road at 7:15 am the next day and retrieving my car was not a problem. I waited just about 5 minutes. Reception staff were great- friendly and helpful. I had checked in online but changed my mind about digital access and it was no problem to get card key instead. Room was beautiful but even more important it was clean and warm ( very cool early spring). Easy to get coffee and breakfast.
Overall, great hotel if you want to stay at waterfront. Only wish I had time to try out their bikes for getting around.

My daughter and I stayed at the Canopy by Hilton Portland Waterfront while attending a Mariners game, and the entire experience was exceptional from start to finish. We booked the Mariners package through their Instagram page, and from the moment we handed over our keys to valet, I knew we were in for a great stay.

The room was clean, bright, and beautifully designed. My daughter was ecstatic to find Mariners-themed goodies and Marin Skincare lip balm waiting for her. She didn't take the Mariner's hat off all night! The bed was incredibly comfortable, the rainfall shower was perfect for unwinding after a long day, and the in-room Nespresso machine was a fantastic added amenity.

At checkout, Alec at the front desk went above and beyond by surprising my daughter with an extra little treat of a chocolate lobster to enjoy on the drive home. That small gesture truly made her day and added an extra layer of excitement to our stay.

I can’t thank Alec, the valet staff, and the entire team enough for making our visit so pleasant and relaxing. We’re already looking forward to coming back!

From the moment you pull up, valet parking makes everything effortless, and the second you walk through the doors… it honestly feels like arriving at a resort on vacation. That same excitement, that same instant shift into relaxation mode. The vibe is perfect.

But the real highlight?

Wow. Just wow.

Alec didn’t just check us in, he completely set the tone for our entire stay. Warm, welcoming, genuinely engaging, and effortlessly professional and kind. The kind of person who makes you feel like you’re not just another guest, but someone they’re truly happy to see. You can tell he takes pride in what he does, and it shows in every interaction.

It’s rare to come across service that memorable — the kind you’re still talking about the next day — but Alec absolutely delivered that.

Canopy Portland nailed both the atmosphere and the people. Already looking forward to coming back.

Canopy Inn by Hilton in Portland, ME is our go-to hotel when we visit. We've taken our family with two small children multiple times over the last few years. Hotel is centrally located and easily walkable to shops/restaurants in the city. Rooms are great and staff are very accommodating, especially Alec, who was very kind to our kids. Salt Yard Cafe is also a great place to start your day. Highly recommend, 10/10!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Canopy. The location was excellent for all of Old Port - easy walking everywhere. The staff was welcoming, super friendly and helpful. Valet service is a must - the young men were a delight. Cleanliness was topnotch. And so important, the rooms were very quiet. You would never know you were in a city.

This is an excellent hotel: great location, great services (restaurant, breakfast, bar) and wonderfully professional staff - Maddy at the Front Desk was an exemplary problem-solver this past weekend. She's The Best.
