Great lodge but would select a room with more ventilation and natural light exposure.
Pros:

We loved the location, the rooftop with a restaurant (opens only on weekends, though), and the staff.

Cons:

Our two Queen size bedroom was dark, with one window that opens out to the main aisle way where all guests pass through. As a result, we didn’t open the window and the air in the room felt stale and the musty odor from the bathroom was noticeable.

A fantastic boutique hotel very close to the plaza but quiet and with wonderful staff.
Pros:

Very stylish, great location, excellent value for money, wonderful staff, nice breakfast. So close to the plaza, but mostly a quiet street, so very quiet in the mornings. Tapalpa is a wonderful mountain town. So many great restaurants within a 5-minute walk!

Cons:

I like to sleep in a dark room so a black-out curtain would have been great. The antique locks are nice looking, but inconvenient if one person wants to go out, then the other person gets locked in the room.
