Hotel Paramitha

Some of the staff took a while to warm up but once they did were friendly enough. They were accomodating to allow me to use their freezer and stove for some of my work though which was nice. Was not the cleanest or the most quiet but considering the options in town it was good enough.
I stayed for 10 nights (no weekly discount).

Lonely Planet describes this place as good value, so I sought it out. By the time I found it, on an unattractive back street littered with garbage and lacking street lights, it was too late to go anywhere else, so I took a Superior Room, which was barely acceptable. The A/C functioned at about 50% because some of its components were broken. The hot water worked for 5 minutes. There were large cockroaches under the bed and in the bathroom all night long.

But this wasn't the worst of the problems. The reception staff was rude. They wouldn't let me leave my bag in the room until I paid the room fee in advance, which I accomplished after a long walk to an ATM. Then, when I tried to point out the various flaws in the room, the staff seemed to think that they were normal.

I wish I'd read the other reviews before coming here. I won't be back.

This is very old type hotel with poor maintenance. Staff's are good and user friendly old type toilet, bath styles and may feel some bad smell in bed rooms I was found not good and check for other options in the city.

We stayed here for one night, arriving in the afternoon and leaving early morning so we were not expecting much. We paid IDR 150,000 for a basic room with a fan. It was clean enough with small towels and fresh blankets given to us when we checked in. The bathroom was a non-flushing toilet and bucket showers but that is quite normal in Indonesia. It was central to many places to eat and we walked to dinner nearby. I did have a walk through the garden and encountered a few cockroaches but those were the only bugs I saw. Again, it is not somewhere I would recommend staying for days but if you're in transit and need somewhere for he night it is do able. On the plus side, breakfast was delicious and included and brought to your room so you can eat in bed. The staff were also very friendly and helpful with directions and you could purchase any small personal items and amenities like tissue and soap at decent prices in the lobby.

No showers not even shared ones
leaking toilet with water puddles on the floor
Mattress cover and pillows yellow, dingy and covered in stains

I literally cried myself to sleep only to wake up to a huge cockroach
disgusting!!! I would no go back if I was paid to
