Hotel AJ Gran Alacant

Booked last minute, this was a great find. Although the location isn’t great, it’s close to the airport but about a 20min drive to town, if I wanted a quiet no frills stay, I’d definitely stay here again.
The hotel offers a restaurant (which didnt have an extensive menu but was fine), a small bar, which looked to be staffed by the restaurant staff who would run between.
The rooms were very spacious, we had two separate bedrooms, both with balconies, a small kitchen space, living space, two bathrooms and a walk in wardrobe. This + access to the rooftop pool is ideal.
The staff were pleasant and checking in/out was super simple.

Couldn’t fault this hotel. Close to the airport, comfortable and clean rooms. Nice breakfast and loads of parking! Would definitely return.

The hotel was a perfect location for myself and my son, we just wanted a base as had plans to visit different areas. The location is perfect and I imagine in peak season you wouldn't need to leave the area at all as there is supermarkets, bars an restaurants with an area of entertainment for children. The hotel is spotless, all the staff we encountered where helpful and polite, the pool is on the roof and was a lovely area. Checkout wasn't till 12 we could leave our luggage in a secure area, so we could make the most of our last day. I wouldnt take younger children to this hotel as it feels more of an adult hotel or older children. There is a great selection of buses making it easy to explore. The train terminal in alicante is straightforward an easy enough, though if you want to travel to valencia you do need your passport number. There is a bus terminal in alicante too where you can travel to benidorm an valencia. I would definitely recommend the hotel to friends and family and would return again. I couldn't find any negatives with staying here.

What a lovely, smart and spotless hotel. We got a great deal from EasyJet holidays. Handy for the airport, taxi 20/25 euros depending on traffic. Only about 15 minutes away.
The hotel is more like a business hotel rather than a family hotel as it is quite inland from the beaches etc, probably about 5k away. Too far to walk but regular busses to Santa Pola ( nice marina ) or the playa at los Arinales are each about 10 minutes away. Alicante city about 45 minutes by hourly busses.
We only had breakfast on one occasion and it was typical hotel buffet fare. Very nice for €12 pp..
Lots of restaurants on the doorstep in the Commercial Centre but most were quite quiet at this time of year.
3 large supermarkets and a few fast food places all within a 3 minute walk.
My only negative is not really to do with the hotel, it’s the area it’s in. We like a stroll in the mornings or in the evening but there is nothing really of interest in the vicinity and too far to walk to Santa Pola along the main road or the beaches , although there is a pavement it is quite hilly.

5 night stay. EasyJet holiday, 15 mins from airport using private transfer. Great hotel, big rooms, cleaned every day. Great breakfast, excellent coffee. Booked half board dinner was well presented and good variety. Took Uber to visit beach, marina etc. Very easy and reliable. Roof top pool was a bonus. Would definitely visit again

We stayed here for 2 nights, loved the room comfortable spotless clean, huge balcony facing the shopping centre no traffic noise. We didn’t book meals as there’s loads of options close by and we had only a short stay. We got taxi to the airport ( vary in price depending on time of day) but fast option as no direct bus from airport. We went to Santa pola by uber, and then a boat trip to Tabarca island which was only 20 minutes away and very quaint Spanish style. Would definitely stay at this hotel again.

Very wonderful hotel to stay. The quality of the food, the room and friendliness of all staff was all very good, I would for sure stay again. The cheesecake especially was amazing.

Check in, room, shower were all very good. We went and ruined it by have our evening meal there.
When we sat down we were given the evening menu , but no drinks menu. The male waiter when asked about drinks could not even be bothered to get the drinks menu. We got a bottle of house white. Found out when paying was €18. Much better that by the glass as portion given by the glass were small.

Stater of salad was nice, but more stalks then leaves. From the picture the description states in english Chicken strips. When it arrived it was chicken wings. However in the spanish version it’s chicken wings. The chips that accompanied the chicken wings were cold. We informed the male waiter who took it back to the kitchen. Reappearing three minutes later, he microwave the plate. BBQ sauce was now stuck to the plate.

The Salmon dish served was not as per menu snd was salmon with stir fried vegetables. Vegetables was a chunk of onions, two slices of courgettes and two thin pieces of peppers. There was lemon juice served on the salmon. No sign of the reduced cider snd apple puree. It was obviously sitting in the hot plate for some time ss the skin on the base was dried out. But a good portion otherwise.

As for the deserts. The ice cream was of good quality. I got the deconstructed lemon pie. What came and was sent back was a mix of a slushy and an uncooked egg. Rotten to look at. The male waiter did offer “any thing else” but at that stage.

Between the mains and desert the female waitress came to the table. Removing the salt, pepper, olive oil and bread. Without addressing us in any way, not are you finished with the bread. No, just took it all away.

We were not asked at any point , nor did we see anyone being asked was there meal ok. We paid up and left. Fill price was charged. I went to reception looking for the duty manager to be told there was no manager on duty.
Carman the receptionist listened and said she could call the manager on the phone.
We will stay here again as that part was very good. But eating here again is a huge NO WAY.Sorry it’s a bit of a rant, but we were totally dissatisfied with the restaurant. Hence the overall Poor score.

My wife and I just had a week here and loved it, the hotel is lovely very clean, breakfast was great good selection, rooms are spotless very clean and beds very comfortable. Hotel staff were very friendly especially the house keeping team who greeted us everyday always smiling and very polite.
It’s a quick 10 minute drive from the airport and a perfect base to travel around the area. Alicante is a short drive away, we drove to many areas past the salt lakes to see the flamingoes. We would highly recommended this hotel especially as it is next door to a shopping area supermarkets bars and restaurants.

We love this hotel. Ticks all the boxes whether is a short stay, a holiday or used for the airport. We have used this hotel a few times now and always look forward to going back. Modern and always smells absolutely beautiful.

Beautiful room, safe quiet, amazing breakfast and only 10 mins from Alicante airport. Amazing value for money and will definitely stay again after a late night arrival in Alicante especially with a 24 hr check in.

Very clean and tidy Hotel and rooms

Close to beaches of Santa Pola. Close to Alicante airport. Hotel built in 2021 so very modern. Lovely roof top pool. Don't be out of by main road and retail park.

Perfectly situated for Alicante airport. Very comfortable room and very well soundproofed. Staff were friendly and helpful. The pool area is fantastic. This was our second visit to Hotel AJ and I’m sure we will be back again.

Absolutley wonderful hotel, spotless , rooms changed daily , fabulous pool area , excellent location, great prices and amazing staff . Have stayed here a few times and already booked up again for 3 stays throughout the year in 2026. 100% recommend anyone to stay here.

We stayed here for the second time. The location is excellent, and we had nothing to complain about – everything met our expectations once again.

Lovely hotel but the big downfall was the poor cleanliness of the pool area. The tables and area around pool wasn’t very clean at all. I observed the same stains throughout my stay (that weren’t cleaned or addressed) and even a false nail that nobody had swept up for 4 days. Very disappointing.

I’ve just returned from a stay in this lovely hotel. The only thing I would say is comprising the amazing place is the cleanliness of the pool area (tables, walk ways, grass etc). It wasn’t clean at all and visible stains on the tables were never removed up there (nor on the walkways). The stairs up to rooms were similar - hairs gathered and it wasn’t pleasant. This in comparison to the amazing hotel and rooms. This is the only thing compromising it. An easy fix I would think - hopefully.
