Pros:

Hard to find location, it's not really a hotel but a complex of appartment buildings of which one now functions as a hotel, but not really, front desk staff hardly speaks English, elevators are tiny, like 2 people could fit with one suitcase. When we arrived the swimmingpool which looks great in the pictures was closed, the room is old and tired, lots of spiderwebs around the bed, no utensils or kitchenware, curtains were not blackout curtains, matress thin and very low bed. Lighting terrible, bathroom showering in the bath tub, no bed tables on either side or light switch or plug near the bed, etc. you get the picture.

It it by no means the most upscale establishment, but The Aiyara far exceeds its low nightly rate. We stayed there one night so we could see historic Ayutthaya before the day of our evening return flight out of Bangkok. The small one-bedroom condo was clean and had all the amenities, including a small kitchen to prepare meals. The fitness room is better than many luxury hotels I have stayed at. The front desk called us a cab to Ayutthaya (about 10 minutes away by car), kept our luggage at the front desk after we checked out, then later called us another cab to take us to the international airport in Bangkok (about a 1-hour drive). I would definitely recommend it for a short trip to Ayutthaya.
