It wass a great place, clean, great staff. The rooms were a bit small & for the price, I expect more

Great place and will give them 8.7 for now
Pros:

Good location not too far from the airport and the staff was great, I had personal service from 2 that I remember their names

Pros:

The staff were very courteous. The rooms and pool side where I spent most of the time were clean. Also, the buffet was very good.

I tried the Asian restaurant one evening. Service was sloppy, and I waited for such a long time to be served.

It was very very noise. The ventilation system is way too loud in every room. It made it impossible to have a good night sleep. It’s not possible to open the windows. The whole room and bathroom is vibrating. The AC is too cold in the lobby and in the restaurants.

Mixed experience with housekeeping, better second day
Pros:

We stayed at the hotel for two nights, and unfortunately our first impression was disappointing. When we entered the room, it was clear it had not been properly prepared. There was only one toothbrush provided and a half-used bottle of body lotion, which was surprising and unacceptable.

When we called housekeeping to report this, the response from the staff member who answered the phone was unprofessional and dismissive, with no apology offered. The response was along the lines of “ehhh, so you want toothbrush and body lotion”, which was disappointing and not in keeping with the standards expected of a Marriott hotel.

We later realised that the knock we heard was from cleaning staff attending to the room next to ours. When we explained our situation to them directly, they were pleasant and helpful and provided the needed items promptly, without any hesitation.

There was also an issue with the bathroom, as water from the shower leaked onto the bathroom floor, leaving it partially flooded after one person’s bath. In addition, the view from Room 231 was very poor, overlooking exposed pipes and service infrastructure. The hotel could do better by screening this area, as it detracts from the guest experience.

That said, our second day was much better, particularly our visit to Wakame Restaurant, which was enjoyable and helped improve our stay.

Overall, the hotel is well located and has good facilities, but greater attention to housekeeping checks, room readiness, and customer service training would significantly improve the experience.

Expensive but very nice property in good location
Pros:

I attend at this hotel during a trip to Lagos. The hotel is located in a very good area of Lagos mainland, the hotel is the standard you will get anywhere else in the world, however it is very pricy. The hotel has nice amenities and good food. The staff were very polite and friendly. I got a surprise welcome chocolate and wine as a Mariott Bonvoy member. I will definitely go back to this hotel in the near future.
