From 1st January 2023, a tourist tax of RM 10 per room per night is applied to all foreign guests. This tax is not included in the room rate and must be paid upon check-in. Guests with a valid Malaysian Identity Card or valid permanent residents MY PR Card are exempted. Effective from 1st March 2022, guests are required to pay MYR 3 per room per night for Cukai Kelestarian (Sustainability Tax) by the State Government. This is not included in the room rate and will be paid directly at the hotel.

Großes, gut geführtes Hotel mit großer Tiefgarage
Pros:

Das Hotel ist riesig und wirkt sehr leer. Das kann einen etwas kühlen Eindruck machen, für uns war es aber eher angenehm. Ein großer Plusplunkt war für uns die sehr große Tiefgarage, da wir mit Mietwagen dort waren. Man kommt von der Tiefgarage direkt mit dem Aufzug ins Stockwerk des Zimmers. Das Zimmer war sauber und groß. Schön ist, dass man die Fenster öffnen kann, und man hat sogar einen Balkon. Die Gegend dort ist deutlich kühler als im Rest von Malaysia. Von den meisten Zimmern aus hat man Aussicht über ganz Tanah Rata und die Hügel ringsherum, was vom Prinzip her gut ist, allerdings hat uns der Ort nicht so gefallen.
Das Frühstück war reichhaltig, auch viel asiatisch Gekochtes,aber von allem etwas, auch europäisches Frühstück und genug. Man hätte dort auch Mittag- und Abendessen können, das haben wir aber nicht in Anspruch genommen. Eine Lieferung von Essen ins Zimmer ist ebenfalls möglich. Es gibt im Restaurant keinen Alkohol.

Cons:

Der Pool war ganz schön kalt und hatte nur Leitern, keine Stufen. Jetzt ist es ja eh nicht so heiß in der Gegend, da wären ein paar Grad mehr in der Wassertemperatur schon angenehm gewesen.
Was auch nicht so praktisch war, waren die Sitzmöglichkeiten im Zimmer. Man hatte zwar einen großen Balkon, aber keinen Stuhl, um sich dort hinzusetzen. Auch im Zimmer selbst war nur ein unbequemer Stuhl und ein Sessel. Für zwei Personen schon knapp. Und wenn man sich das Essen z.B. aufs Zimmer bestellen würde, dann hätte man gar keine rechte Möglichkeit, dieses zu essen.
Eine kleine Anmerkung, für die aber das Hotel nichts kann: Die ganze Gegend war für uns eher enttäuschend. Der Hype um die Teeplantagen erschloss sich uns nicht, und die touristische Aufbereitung hat es eher unattraktiv gemacht. Auch der Versuch, eine Wanderung in den Regenwald zu machen, scheiterte auf Grund der unübersichtlichen Regelungen. Man muss sich wohl vorher anmelden, sonst muss man üble Strafen zahlen - auch bei den Wanderungen, bei denen man sich laut Google Maps nicht anmelden muss.
Die kühlen Temperaturen waren sehr angenehm und eine schöne Erfrischung.

Beautiful Cameron Highlands
Pros:

Nice hotel. Love the location. Right at town center. Everything was ok except the air conditioning not cold. Present at 25 C. At night is too warm. Call front desk about the matter no one came to check. Upon checked out they just say sorry. Front desk say they came to check, l wonder which room they went to or there are many rooms have air conditioning problems. Breakfast ok. The usual, next time we may stay at other hotel. Customer service not good anymore. Concierge staff, a tall Malay guy was helpful & attentive. Send & collect our luggage for both days. Nice guy. Happy & smiling face. Definitely he deserves a good tips. Overall it’s our 3rd stay may try the new hotel by Ascott group Oakwood next time.
