Great location just around the corner from 6th street and great rooftop with high quality rooms. There’s a bar and two restaurants, one for breakfast-lunch, and a second one for dinner combined with a great drink menu

We had an amazing stay at the Thompson! Our dogs love staying there. All of the staff are so friendly and welcoming, especially Marquis! We loved staying in the San Jacinto suite. Our dogs enjoyed the view! Breakfast in the diner is delicious also.
What a great night stay!! From the bellhop, to our bartender at Ariba, our server at Dinner 51, and Marquis at valet we got exceptional service! Hotel Tommie has some great employees.
From the very beginning, I was underwhelmed.. I guess I was expecting to see something like the Thompson in Dallas. But I guess the hotel reflects the city it is in. Building seemed a little old. I booked using my AMEX benefits, and although Thompson Dallas was able to combine 2 back to back reservations and give me $200 credit ($100 for each reservation), Thompson Austin only gave me $100 claiming it was combined to 1 reservation. The room was small. Lady at the front desk told me I was 'upgraded to a higher floor'.. not really sure how it's an upgrade if the room is the same as one in a lower floor and the view isn't any better either. The worst part of the experience was the shower. As you can see in the video the pressure on the rain shower head was low. I let the concierge desk know, and I was told they would send an engineer to look at it while we were out of the room. The pressure was the same when we got back, and no one followed up with me regarding the issue. While the pictures make the place look upscale and modern, as I mentioned earlier, the experience was definitely not "upscale". I must say any staff I interacted with were nice, courteous, always responding with a smile and looking to help.
Valet was super easy, convenient and fast. Pulled up and Morgan helped me right away, then even remembered my name when I walked out
This is the best valet service we ever had! Helped us plug in to charge our Cybertruck, put water in the car when pulling up, great patience with kids and dogs!
Great location, and the room was nice/clean. Service was great. But it can be noise from street or hallway (late-night outing people)
Best hotel gym EVER! Full array of leg machines, smith machine, rack, barbells, dumbbells, cable machine, lat pulldown/row, stairmaster and other cardio equipment. Plenty of space. The hotel room, food and service were also excellent.
Nicolas Gonzales is amazing he speaks Spanish and is great . He was prompt and friendly. We appreciate his hospitality and how prompt he helped us

Location is perfect, right by 6th street. Very cool vibe and staff was very friendly. We stayed on the 8th floor and had a very spacious suite with a large bathroom(walk in shower double vanity). Street noise is a problem at night but a little to be expected that close to 6th street. Slightly disappointed by the speed of the internet. Also the Royale Cocktail lounge although being a pretty chill vibe was almost too laid back. Tried ordering a couple of their "signature" cocktails, only to be told they did not have all of the ingredients to make?? Also the attached 5th street diner was just ok. Due to the location and friendly staff I would probably stay here again though.
Morgan was incredibly friendly and efficient. Had me in and out faster than any other valet I’ve ever experienced. The weather hasn’t been fantastic, and he helped to mitigate frustrations with getting our vehicle back in spite of it.
I had an exceptional experience with the valet team during my recent check-in. One valet member (Nicolas Gonzalez), in particular, went above and beyond to make sure all of my luggage and shopping bags were handled with care and delivered to my hotel room promptly—even though it was well past their usual service hours. His professionalism, kindness, and dedication truly stood out and grateful for his assistance.
Best hotel experience we’ve had since the Lanham in NY. We stayed one night at Thompson Hyatt in Austin last year and were impressed enough to come back. This year was wonderful — service, food, gym. Many improvements. Will see you next year!
Hotel is built to Thompson design standards, but it showing wear and tear for only being 3 years old. Outdoor furniture cushions are worn damp. Pool area was shared with apartment residences which had select reserved cabanas. Staff was professional but not did not provide hotel information at check in, but rather relied on using a QR code to detail amenities. Hot water for our shower took 10 minuets to get hot, maintenance seemed to know about this issue and suggested we let the water run for a while. No follow up from guest services to see if the issue was corrected. Overall everything was very nice, but not extraordinary.
So sweet to me and my family for my birthday dinner and very prompt! Loved his energy and he was super charismatic! My mom and dad absolutely adored him
