Octant Evora

We stayed at the Octant Évora. Had I known that it was so dramatically geared towards families I would not have chose this Octant . We have grandchildren so I love families, however my husband and I found ourselves always surrounded by children. We have a villa which was convenient. Although we were told this property opened five years ago the place shows lack of upkeep . For example, one of the sinks had a portion of its counter top missing - it was conspicuous so housekeeping should have been able to alert management. Breakfast was abundant- a typical buffet . The dinner menu had interesting sounding items but the quality was quite mediocre. Housekeeping was wanting in actual attention to usual expected actions .

I’ve had massages all over the world, but none compare to the one I received from Liliana at the Évora Hotel, Farm & Spa. I was hesitant about the €149 price for a 90-minute custom massage, but within minutes I realized she’s in a class of her own — precise, intuitive, and deeply skilled.

I don’t believe in tipping just because someone does their job, but when service goes above and beyond, I’m more than happy to show my appreciation. Let’s just say my tip was more than the massage — and worth every cent.

If Liliana ever works in Los Angeles, I’ll be her first client. Until then, I’ll be flying back to Portugal for another session.

We loved our stay at Octant hotel. It was a relaxing time away from the busyness of a city. We stayed at a villa and loved the private pool. We also loved all the walking trails and got to see a lot of stars at night on the trails. The hotel staff was wonderful and the property was amazing. The hotel food was also good for breakfast and dinner.

Um hotel incrível para quem procura paisagem bonita e diversão com crianças. O hotel sabe receber de maneira perfeita bebês e crianças, com equipe bem treinada e estrutura completa. Fiquei numa Vila com 3 quartos e foi ótimo, seria melhor se a piscina tivesse aquecimento e servissem como cortesia café da manhã completo na Villa. A equipe do restaurante é maravilhosa, com garçons eficientes e simpáticos, principalmente os jovens brasileiros que estavam lá trabalhando. Comida boa e ampla variedade no café da manhã. Recomendo fortemente estadias para famílias

This hotel was very special! The staff was lovely and went above and beyond to make sure you were enjoying your stay.

The location, Farm, Pool, and restaurant were all amazing. It was one of the highlights on our trip. Our only regret is we didn't get to stay longer.

We had a great stay at the Octant in Evora, staff is very friendly and courteous and the whole ambience is very relaxing. Staying here was the perfect start to our vacation!

Adoramos tudo: o quarto, a área externa, o spa, o restaurante, o serviço e o lugar idílico onde está situado o hotel. É possível relaxar de verdade nas piscinas para adultos com a vista incrível do campo. O staff também é muito simpático e solicito. Voltaremos com certeza!

As we stepped into the hotel the scent hit us as if we've experienced it in the past, and pretty soon we found out that they have a hotel in the Azores where we stayed twice...
I dont know where to start as everything in this hotel is above expectations. First the service in all hotel areas is great, the entire staff are always smiling and willing to help. our room was fabulous with a balcony to the pool. it is clear that the hotel has an environmental friendly approach which is highly appreciated. there is no plastics in the room and everything looks natural including the least thought things like the tissue box made of cork, tables made of natural wood and even the garbage bins are lined with paper bags. we sampled the restaurant for breakfast, lunch and dinner and all were very good with abundant dishes to choose from, and once again service was excellent, after overcoming the language barrier, as not all waiters were very fluent in English.
We took a wine tasting session in the newly created enoteca. the room itself is beautiful with shelves of wine bottles covering the walls. Renato who guided us through the tasting was very knowledgeable and friendly letting us enjoy the wine. they serve a nice plate with cheeses and charcuterie which was also nice. the thing we also appreciated was that they let us take one bottle from the tasting to dinner with us at no extra cost.
and lastly, the hotel sits in a beautiful area with a big reserve on premise. the reserve has many trails to walk and enjoy nature, a beautiful lake and many places to sit and admire nature

Exceptional hotel beautifully located in nature. Modern facility which provides great insight into local culture and cuisine. A great base for exploring Alentejo. Great food at the restaurant with meals rooted in local dishes. Nice spa facilities. Although there are not enough superlatives to describe the place, the real gem here is the staff. Kind, polite and attentive.
The hotel is extremely child friendly, perfect for families with children. This, however, can be a downside for those without children.

What a great experience! All that you can expect from a great resort on such a beautiful place. Suitable for all type of tourism but specially good for families.

The Octant Évora was the highlight of our two-week trip to Portugal. The setting alone - looking out over the fields of the Alentejo would have been enough but together with the amazing room (we stayed in a two-bedroom villa) and the delicious food (vegetarian friendly) it knocked our expectations out of the park. Travelling with a toddler was also a breeze as the hotel and staff were geared up to support every step of the way.

We hired a villa for 4 nights in April for two adults and two young children (age 9 and 7). We just wanted to relax and explore the local area - the town of Évora and the surrounding countryside, including the cork oaks and ancient olive trees. Apparently it’s really hot in summer (35-40C)… even in April it was peaking in the mid 20s C.

The villa was very spacious, with two good-sized bedrooms, and well-equipped, including a kitchen. The outside area was private, good for relaxing by the pool with views of the countryside.

Our children loved the farm and the kids’ play area. There were lots of tame animals for petting - goats, sheep and a pony. The kids’ club was well organised and our children enjoyed some the activities - pottery and pizza making.

We chose the hotel because it had an indoor pool (the outdoor pools are too cold in April!) Pool was a bit small but did the job - we went every day.

Restaurant food (including the breakfast buffet) and service were generally quite good, especially the grill menu, but the bar and restaurant lacked a bit of ambience. Possibly the wine could’ve been more free flowing!

The local old railway line is a great spot for cycling and running.

Overall, we had an excellent stay and would recommend the hotel - fairly good value for money and something different from the Algarve!

We loved our stay here - a one night get away from our 2 year old who we left with the grandparents. Though once we arrived I had wished he was with us, as there was such an incredible kids program on offer. Even though the place is clearly very kid/family friendly, it still has a beautiful inviting grown up feel, definitely something for everyone. The food was good, the indoor pool lovely, the grounds are peaceful. We'd consider coming back for a proper family holiday in the future.

The reception left something to be desired. Maria didn't explain anything about the hotel to us. Even though we arrived before check-in, we stayed for 30 minutes after our supposed check-in time and nothing was explained to us.
The air conditioning in the room didn't work, it was very noisy and the soundproofing in the rooms was very poor. We could hear everything that was happening in the other rooms, even the toilets flushing.
The bathroom was cramped and smelly, as were the hotel hallways. The place was beautiful but unfortunately it didn't deliver what it promised.
Many, many children running around and screaming, with no parental supervision, no entertainment for them. It was crazy. I don't recommend it.
The restaurant was ok, but the desserts were terrible and very limited.
There are better hotels and places to stay.

Many thanks to the staff for their kind attention. The property itself was impeccable. Highly recommend this place.

A estadia foi simplesmente fantástica! Adorei o hotel. É muito confortável, decoração magnífica, staff muito simpático e comida deliciosa. Aproveitamos o bom do inverno e o acolhedor da lareira, agora quero regressar no verão para aproveitar a piscina. A minha filha adorou os animais e a zona kids com as cabanas de madeira e baloiço.

Ambientes interior e exterior muito cuidados e agradáveis.

Ótimo para quem tem crianças, quer pelas áreas que lhes afeta, quer nas atividades que lhes proporciona, quer pela simpatia das funcionárias.

Os adultos também têm os seus espaços próprios.

O pequeno almoço é bastante bom.

Único senão: o restaurante tem um menu pouco conseguido e caro.
