Split is a great place to visit but this hotel & it's staff make it even better.

The location is amazing, right next to the diocesan palace
It's a very comfortable, heritage hotel in a very central location. Our room and bathroom were well appointed. The staff were friendly and courteous. Breakfast was excellent. The hotel has a very good cafe/bar/restaurant which is excellent for people-watching in the square, and there's also a rooftop bar with a great view.
This is not a complaint, but advice to guests arriving by car. Even though you can enter the hotel's address in the GPS, you can't actually drive there because it's in a pedestrian area. To avoid confusion and frustration it would be best to phone the hotel and get the GPS address for the parking, which is a short distance away. In any case, the hotel has to send a staff member to meet you there and open the parking space.

The location cannot be beat and the staff went above and beyond for us. We were able to explore so much of the city despite only staying there one night.
Room decor was a bit outdated and room was dark/without much natural light.
Location was outstanding, in the middle of the old town and close to all sites, restaurants, the breach and a short walk to the ferry (to get to Hvar or other locations, for example).
Breakfast could've been a little better, it felt like there was less variety by the time I went down at around 08:30.
