Island View Hotel Bar Harbor

Do you enjoy ice cold showers? If so, this place is for you. If not.....
Nice location, decent looking rooms, but there are big problems, not least of which is no hot water for the shower. The mattress is absolutely shot and walls paper thin. There have got to be better options.

Just don’t think this hotel was worth $322 for the night. Room was very small and the beds are small. The gentleman at the desk was very friendly

Room was comfortable and warm. The bathroom area could have been a bit cleaner.
Parking was fine. Only staff was at check-in and he was very pleasant. There was no housekeeping service. We could have used some clean hand towels and certainly another days worth of coffee pods.

The staff at the property were friendly and supportive especially after multiple travel delays that led to late night check in accommodations.

The room was clean and stocked with basic goodies. The bed was comfy if you like softer mattress firmness. The amenities were basic, but enough for a few day trip. The AC was a benefit if needed during the Summer times. The room walls are semi-thin unfortunately guests next door choose to blast TV volume late each night, but nothing headphones can't solve.

The location is great spot for wanting to be close to Bar Harbor, but not pay arm in a leg for accommodations. It is just off the main stretch heading to and out of the island to Bar Harbor. It like roughly 12-15 minute drive to downtown Bar Harbor. There are many little cafes and restaurants on the way into town. The parking was easy and conveniently close to the rooms.

Overall, the property was great for weekend getaway with basic amenities of bed and roof over your head that wouldn't break the bank.

Our host is friendly and very helpful. On each of our two visits he made sure that we had bottles of water in our room, and he shared interest in our day’s adventures in Acadia National Park. The Island Explorer Bus made summer transportation free and convenient.

It seems that this older hotel building was recently fixed up complete with fresh paint.

We really enjoyed the staff who were so welcoming, the location was incredible, and the price affordable! Could use an update at some point but the bed was very comfortable! It was a great experience.

David was so friendly during our check in. He went above and beyond helping with restaurants and had an extra blanket brought up to our room. The view from our room was amazing. Not some fancy high end resort, just a great place to stay that was quiet and comfortable and convenient.

If you want Bay view, only works on the 2nd floor. First floor bay view is somewhat bad unless you sit outside or keep the door open.On first floor, shutters over the window do not keep out any of the light, including the parking lot light which is very.bright.

Nice location. VERY small room. NO vanity space at all - just the sink!! Could use renovation!

Room smelled musty, pillow case smelled unclean. No windows that opened. Tub was stained, water was brown when it first came out of the shower head. No water pressure in the cold water faucet.
Property was pretty, staff was nice and attentive.

Gorgeous view at high tide of mt desert narrows. No desk staff between 9pm-1pm so know that. No amenities besides 1 communal microwave soap and shampoo in rooms and tv fridge. Room clean beds new for price and 15 drive to bar harbor you arent finding much cheaper for clean. Overall a nice hotel motel

Nice, quiet hotel that met our needs for visiting Acadia NP which was about 15 minutes away. Reasonably priced and across from the very best lobster pound around. Dining choices otherwise pretty limited nearby. Found a good breakfast place about a mile away. Nice view on one side. Would definitely recommend this place.
