The location was wonderful
The day staff was great the valet was super nice
The night desk receptionist. He was very unprofessional had us wait to check in so he could edit his playlist to remove Christmas music. We came a night early called before hand the lady was super nice said we would just pay for an extra night so she held the room so we wouldn’t lose it since it was early. Once the guy was done editing his playlist we paid for the extra night we had already paid for the other nights. He charged us we have the receipts and confirmations. He started our stay a night early and which made us leave a night early instead of adding a night which I even asked him to make sure that would not happen I even checked the confirmation afterwards on the app and my emails all was correct. The morning of my birthday we were informed by the valet that our stay had changed in the system. So we headed to the lobby to check. I was nice I even asked management to check the cameras bc he snapped at me yelled at me said my body language was uncalled for. I was standing there with tears in my eyes at that point holding my books clueless apologizing to him telling him I was not mad at him I just wanted to make sure we still had one more night he than proceeded to tell me bc I was cheap and used a booking app I messed my reservation up and he wouldn’t fix it. He said good luck we are booking up fast. He would not do the same and hold our reservation and smiled and laughed. I was scared because we were 14 hours away from home and supposed to be there two more days and he wouldn’t do anything to help. So I called booking they were super helpful and nice and tried to fix the problem with the guy at the desk, he yelled at her and hung up ! She called me back said to go down there and they would refund me a night so I could pay the hotel again for another night so I wasn’t paying for one night twice. I have never had such an awful experience at a hotel before. I told management but I don’t think anything was done. I will never stay here again.
Breakfast was delicious and ample, with many choices and fresh fruit, yogurt and hot dishes. I could visit shops and the Pioneer Museum on foot from the hotel, and there was a pool/hot tub as well as an exercise room, and I went swimming.
My biggest complaint is that the hotel didn't offer free parking. The 'valet parking' they offered cost $ 35 per day extra, and the street parking had parking meters that had to be fed regularly...
Hotel and staff was great
Clerical nonsense between hotel and booking.com was awful. I paid booking.com upfront, in full three days before arriving. There was a payment issue between booking.com and the hotel, so the hotel also charged me for the room I’d already paid for. I alerted the hotel to this the first day. It didn’t get corrected because booking.com’s credit card was declining so I got charged again for the room I had already paid for a second night in a row. Then I needed to spend the next 5 days confirming/watching these charges pending in my account to ensure all the correct items dropped while my money was withheld from my use. I shouldn’t have to pay full price for when the error wasn’t my fault and have extra clerical duties due to the communication error between booking.com and the hotel - but I did! Will NEVER use booking.com again. Disappointed that even after I alerted to hotel about this - they still double charged me for the second night. Issues between these two companies is not my problem and I shouldn’t be forced to be stuck in the middle. Might stay at the hotel again due to location, but I’d never recommend it to anyone.
