The staff are friendly, helpful and professional. We particularly appreciate the maître d’s hospitality, Pedro. He was classy and helpful. I like the area where the hotel is situated. It is safe with police always patrolling the area. The dinner at the restaurant is great. I love hanging out at the Cipriani bar for drinks. I would definitely return next year and stay at the Ritz. My overall experience is 9/10.
Architecture
Too expensive
Very comfortable and staff took very good care
The fact that you had to change 2 elevators to get to your room.
I had an amazing time at the Ritz in Mexico City. The staff are all very warm and welcoming. My room included access to the lounge. I would like to give a shout out to Brandon at the lounge. He made the check in and check out process so easy and was always so accommodating and kind.
The room was amazing with a beautiful view of the garden and castle. The hotel is located on Reforma street so it’s in a very convenient location close to top restaurants and attractions.
Overall I’d definitely recommend staying here. While it’s not cheap you definitely feel so welcomed and taken care of. Will be back when I’m in Mexico again!
El servicio fue magnífico. Nos casamos ese fin, mi getting ready fue ahí y tuvieron una atención al detalle espectacular. Genuinamente me sentí magnífico
Las instalaciones son de primera pero el servicio ha sido de lo mas top que he visto.
I paid by using some of my points. Otherwise, I wouldn't pay approx. 1400 USD per night for the experience...
Positives:
- The lady at the reception was very friendly and got us a room with a beautiful view (which was most likely an upgrade, due to Platinum Elite status).
- The view from the room was sensational: a huge window front from floor to ceiling, even the bathroom had a phantastic view, if you use the bathtub, for example.
- Staff was attentive and friendly.
- The bed was comfortable, the room was quiet.
Negatives:
- The hotel does not have a traditional lobby, where you could sit, relax, watch guests, have a drink, meet each other etc. I've seen this at several Ritz-Carltons and Waldorf Astorias and don't like it very much. It gives the atmosphere of a serviced apartment. Accordingly, the entrance at the ground floor is more like an ordinary office building.
- You need to change elevators to get to your room: first, you get to the 38th (?) floor to the reception area, then you change the elevator to get to your room level.
- The room seems a little bit "naked" and the modern look gives an impression of an apartment that is newly built and not yet completely furnished, but this is only a personal opinion.
- Breakfast items need to be ordered, there is no buffet.
- The location is probably not the best for people who want to be in the best area of the city, which is Polanco. You can walk to Polanco (during day time), ot take an Uber, but it would be more comfortable to have the hotel just there. This is not the hotel's fault, of course, and Polanco doesn't come with a large choice of good hotels.
All in all, I would recommend the hotel for the view, just for one or a few nights.
el desayuno normal, la ubicación es buena
el ambiente es completamente desagradable, la gente que circula por el lugar es aterradora, el servicio regular, las habitaciones dicen un metraje pero tienen columnas en medio que quitan visibilidad y comodidad
The hotel is a very bold hotel with nothing special in it, rooms are very small, service is not personalized and it’s nothing like the other Ritz hotels I have been to. We arrived and in the room next door there was a body guard sitting outside the room in a chale the whole time which was pretty scary and unusual… Bad atmosphere
Beautiful property, excellent service from the pick up area to the concierge to the bellman to the restaurant to the bar - top notch service. Special thanks to concierge with their assistance with making several reservations to Baltra, Kaito and Hanky Panky. Also Carlotta”s bar - drinks were excellent, they should be on top 50not sure what happened to 50 Mils but Carlotta’s had better drinks than them. My only complaint why did the chef get rid of green ceviche? That was the best ceviche I ever had - please keep staple classic dishes and I missed the margarita with the chapulin salt, i substituted mezcal for tequila but that was an excellent drink. The breakfast was phenomenal, was on par with Sofitel breakfast. The molletes, the emmoladas were delicious, that alone is reason to come back and stay at the hotel. So one thing of interest that I read reviews before staying here is that the water from the shower spills out and the floor can get slippery, we were very careful but last day I forgot to put a towel down and i fell on my knee, there got to be a way to prevent the waterfrom leaking out, housekeeping was pretty good except not that big a deal im pretty sure they were super busy - we had glasses on table in balcony they were there 2 days. Again not a big deal we asked extra hangers got them right away, service is really impeccable. The pool was nice but compared to Sofitel…if they just heated that pool maybe 10 more degrees it would kind make up for it, but I chose Sofitel last time over Ritz and 4 Seasons bc of their pool. However the Sofitel cannot compete with Carlottas it has better drinks, faster service and better bar bites-food. I would definitely recommend staying here. It is a pretty amazing hotel.
El servicio fue increible!!! 100% recomendado
