Excellent staff, perfect location.
Pros:

Very friendly and helpful staff. The property is located a short walk to the bus station and a short walk to the old district. Perfect. We loved the lobby/sitting area that offered coffee, tea and snacks. It was very cozy. Plenty of restaurants close by and a convenience store just a five minute walk away.

It was all good.

Pros:

Tolle Lage zwischen Bahnhof und historischem Teil, sehr sauber, leckeres Frühstück, außerordentlich freundliches und zuvorkommendes Personal (hat den Gepäcktransport für uns organisiert).

Good vibe accomodation
Pros:

- Location is very near to the attractions and besides the main river of the city
- Good design house
- Clean

Cons:

- Parking is quite far from the accommodation >> not convenience to loading big luggage >> even park in-front of house 5 mins for uploading >> the owner of parking lot was angry.
- It is not easy to drive in the small town due to traffic jam, crowded& one way route.

A calm and comfortable place to stay
Pros:

This is a well-run and a very agreeable hotel. Within easy walking distance of the historic part of Takayama it is also a calm place to be. Good breakfasts, nice sized rooms and very friendly and helpful staff.

Cons:

A little wear and tear on the furnishings in our room, otherwise nothing to say here.

Machiya Hotel Takayama ha sido uno de los mejores hoteles que hemos disfrutado en Japón. Es pequeño, amable, decorado con un gusto exquisito lo que hace que la estancia sea más confortable, especialmente para disfrutar de las zonas comunes tomando algo. Apetecía mucho estar allí en un ambiente de calma acogedora. El desayuno japonés (que es el que probamos) es delicioso y las opciones de baño es un plus en el disfrute de la Machiya. Por último, quiero destacar la amabilidad de la plantilla del hotel, su eficacia y su ayuda ante cualquier cuestión. Un personal de 10.

Cons:

No haberme quedado más días en Machiya Takayama.

Great stay in Takayama
Pros:

What a great find in Takayama. Located in a quiet neighborhood, yet just an easy walk to the main attractions.

The room was really spacious, with a great shower, comfortable beds, and good air conditioning. Everything made for a very relaxing stay.

We loved this place and will definitely return.

Pros:

Very helpful and polite staff. Gave great dinner recommendations and called to make dinner reservations for us. Wonderful lobby area with beautiful space, coffee, tea and candy. Perfect location.
