The Loutrel

My family and I recently stayed at The Loutrel for a quick getaway. We gathered it would be a nice stay based on reviews but what we experienced was beyond our expectations. from the moment you check in you are greeted with a Welcome cocktail. From there, we went to our beautiful rooms to discover that he snacks/drinks in the room are all complimentary. The location is great in that it's not on a main street but still located within walking distance to all Charleston landmarks. The hotel has a great rooftop area that gives a 360-degree views of Charleston. The service was great, the breakfast buffet (included with our stay) was convenient and tasty, and the hotel itself was very quiet. Since returning home, I have recommended this hotel at least a dozen times. This is definitely our go-to place to stay in Charleston going forward.

Our second visit to The Loutrel and we will be returning again. From the moment you walk in the doors, you will feel welcome and comfortable.
The decor is beautiful. The location is perfectly convenient to walk to anywhere downtown. The rooms and bathrooms are beautifully decorated, clean and very comfortable. The complimentary snacks and beverages provided in our room, lobby and mezzanine are a fantastic amenity. Complimentary happy hour beverages and complimentary breakfast topped it all off.
We visited midweek to enjoy a special rate on their low end.

The Loutrel is a very friendly, comfortable hotel to stay in Charleston. It is located near the Historic French Quarter and is walking distance to many of the best restaurants in town. The staff was gracious and always there to help or answer questions. Great breakfast in the lobby/bar area. This is our third year staying here and I’m sure not our last. Highly recommend.

We stayed at The Loutrel Dec 22-25 and enjoyed the hotel immensely! It was beautifully decorated for the holiday. The staff we engaged with were exceptional. Rafael greeted us and chatted daily as we came and went (he is a stand out team member). Front desk check-in/out was fast and everyone so courteous. Bar staff friendly, talented and holiday drinks delicious (even there on Christmas Eve). Turn down staff kind beyond belief. Loved the location and the room. We would stay again and again!

We visited Charleston in early December and stay at Loutrel. The hotel is at the walking distance of great restaurants, the makert, King street, the Battery, art studious, and the performing art. Our room was spacious, comfortable, clean with all the amenities of a luxury hotel. The staff are courteous and kind. Breakfast, daily afternoon cocktail and wine, and the lounge are over the top. We enjoyed the rooftop even in December! Cannot wait to go back and stay at Loutrel. Highly recommend!

Great hotel, staff and location. You want for nothing when staying at Hotel Loutrel, they have everything you need as well as a welcoming staff and well appointed rooms. When in Charleston it is a must stay

This is a great boutique hotel in a great location. The rooms are spacious and comfortable and the housekeeping service is excellent. The hotel offers a lot of extras like free snacks and beverages in the room and a happy hour with a free specialty cocktail every day between 4-5. We will definitely be back!

We love the location, atmosphere, amenities, and friendly staff. It is our first choice when choosing a hotel in Charleston.

This was our second trip to the Loutrel. The room was amazing and they have really good breakfasts. Nice cocktails. Everyone was very nice a helpful, especially Rafael the doorman/valet. Would highly recommend it.

The Loutrel it’s always a first class experience. Our company has held our Christmas event here for several years and both the hotel and the service continue to be outstanding. Great location near both restaurants and shopping.

Beautiful little place! Comfortable atmosphere and very friendly staff! Loved the complimentary snacks and drinks and the happy hour of complimentary small bites and drinks! They even came around to your room in the evening for a little sweet treat! Loved it! They also gave welcome cocktails which was nice! The complimentary breakfast was delicious as well! And we always came back to a very clean room thanks to Ainura. Definitely felt like high class or royalty staying there. Rafael Abreu and Carl were part of the valet service! They were always so warm and welcoming! And right before we left, Carl came over and gave our toddler a stuffed animal to take home with her! It was so sweet and she loved the gift! Very kind of him! Would definitely stay here again! Also in walking distance to many great restaurants and shopping!

Our 1st stay at The Loutrel was fantastic! Very professional and personable staff made us feel welcome and comfortable. From breakfast to afternoon cocktails, the environment was great. Our room was perfect, nice furnishings, great view, large luxury bath and more. Location was an easy walk to most anywhere around historic Charleston including shopping, sights and waterfront. We are already planning to return next year!!! Thank You Loutrel!

What a great find as the Loutrel is a 1st class property in every respect. Beautiful design, gorgeous rooms, inviting lobby, lounge area and an attentive staff with an attention to detail to round it all off.
Just can’t see how it can get much better

The Loutrel is a fantastic hotel. Great, convenient location, very engaging and helpful team, beautiful and calm. It is a peaceful and quiet hotel. Rooms are great, Tommy and always very clean. Amenities are excellent. And the overall experience is wonderful. Highly recommend this hotel with visiting Charleston.

The Loutrel exceeded our expectations on every level. The decor in the lobby and Veranda Lounge was delightful for the Holidays. Live music was a fun addition on a Friday evening. The specialty cocktails were fantastic! The location is convenient to many top restaurants and attractions. We were able to walk to each of our adventures with the exception of one. The level of personalization prior to and during our stay was a treat.

From the welcome drink at check in to the lounge with all the Charleston goodies… this hotel thought of everything and went the extra mile! We had such a lovely stay. We loved the happy hour every day with appetizers and looked forward to what the signature drink would be. They also let you take the drinks out on their gorgeous rooftop terrace. Complimentary breakfast was delicious and the hotel had bikes for you to borrow if you wanted to take one out to explore. I would definitely stay here again!
