Very nice and clean
The $30 destination fee was silly. All that got me was discounts to things I didn’t need. They said there was prosecco in the afternoon, that was only one small drink of champagne, no refills. For $30 each day there should’ve been more.
Personal was great, bar, restaurant and room at a great level
Clean
No service mentality, yet 20% gratuity added as standard at the coffee bar, bar etc.
Parking is only available by valet and the cost is completely hidden and untransparent
This is unfortunatley, one of failed stay at Thompson brand hotel in Denver. Staffs were ill educated, short staffed and not so good at taking care of issues. The roomservice sucked and food were delivered cold for breakfast - have you heard of cold and hard french toast? Things were expensive and not working. I had two rooms side by side, but one was smelled chemical fume and the other one had a heater issue. Bathroom was illdesied and freezing cold. If you are visiting Denver, try to avoid this one.
Incredible hotel. Will definitely come back. They take great care of you! We are Amex platinum holders and we're in for our honeymoon. They upgraded our room and surprised us with a bottle of champagne and a special treat as well. They made everything very special for us.
I stayed here for my birthday and I absolutely loved it. The staff was very professional and helpful throughout my entire stay. I loved the view of the city from my room as well. Major points to the sales team who provided complimentary treats to my room as a birthday surprise.
Service is back, at least at the Thompson! Personable and helpful staff. Excellent bar, restaurant, and rooms experience.
Room: We stayed in the Skyline Suite, which was a really nice room. The massive windows was exactly what we wanted. We wished there was a table however to do work. There was a chair in the room but no desk. There was also a dusty lamp plugged into the floor which was kind of distracting from how nice the rest of the room was. The bathroom was clean and had lots of nice and fancy soaps. 7.5/10
Service: The front desk really dropped the ball here. Our room wasn’t ready for an hour after the initial check in time, and trying to check in was very slow even though no one was in line. The front desk was rarely present and was not showing service that seemed accommodating. There was little explanation to pretty much anything I’d need to know about my stay. I would say however that (Beah? Sorry if I butchered that) at the restaurant was absolutely amazing and completely flipped the experience around so shout out to her! 7/10
This location: 10/10. I was in town for a conference, so I was able to walk to (and from) the Convention Center (~10 minutes) when the temperatures were above 50. When the temperature dropped, I could take a 6 minute uber/Lyft. There is also the 16th Street Mall Free Bus right around the corner. The hotel is near a variety of restaurants (We did not get to eat at the hotel restaurants, BUT heard that the breakfast was amazing.). Also, while in town, we also attended a Denver Nuggets game (6-8 minutes in the Uber/Lyft to Ball Arena). Although we stayed on the 5th floor (above a busy street), I did not hear any street traffic. We had a "city view" room, but it looked into an office building across the street. It was the weekend, so not too much activity/people looking into the room. We could get a glimpse of the mountains when the sky was clear.
The hotel: 9/10. The room was clean! I do heavy inspections and disinfecting rooms--wiping surfaces with Lysol wipes and spraying surfaces with Lysol. No residue, stains, bedbugs, or stray hairs (which I have found at other Hyatt properties) to be found! The sheets were crisp and clean. I appreciated the "wood" floors, which I prefer over carpeted floors that are often stained and trigger my allergies. If you need firm pillows, please request or bring your own. No luggage racks in the room, but I requested 2--delivered to my room in no time. I deducted a point because the room does not have enough lighting (especially near any of the mirrors). This is a problem if there is more than one person trying to get dressed in the room. Since the only mirror with lighting is in the bathroom, I made a makeshift station with the portable makeup mirror.
The fitness room: 9/10. The fitness room is warm and has a good selection of weights and machines. I deducted a point because it is in the basement, which means no windows (personal preference here). I opted to walk to a gym (8 minutes) because I needed a piece of equipment that was not in the fitness center.
Overall, I would recommend the Thompson Denver...and plan to stay again on a future visit.
Thompson Denver was amazing! Chris was exceptional. The skyline suite was everything we expected and more. We had an amazing time!
Will go there again!
Great location in the heart of Denver, nice atmosphere nice and quiet, the rooms were very beautiful and we got upgraded to a corner suite for free. Very clean and well kept, and a nice value. The restaurants dinner was to die for the filet was so tender, and the burger was a great portion, and the escargot was very flavorful. Highly recommend to go to Chez Maggy it’s located on property.
Service was exceptional during our stay...from check-in, bar, breakfast, and check-out. They even recognized the special occasion and left a lil gift in the room. Location is very good and room was clean.
