Dovecote Hotel

I booked this hotel months in advance to allow me to drive down from Scotland with my dog to compete at Crufts (which they were told and they are supposedly pet friendly) - my money was taken on Tuesday - it is now Saturday and 4 hours into my drive down I receive a message telling me that my room was cancelled, no real reason given and when I called customer service they gave no assistance to find anything else - despite being part of the OYO chain - so I was left on my own to try to find somewhere else within my budget that is dog friendly when most pet friendly hotels are FULL - and apparently I have to do all the work to get a refund - it is not automatic despite THEM cancelling on me and breaking the contract - dreadful way to treat a customer - WILL NEVER BOOK WITH OYO or Dovecote again

Really enjoyed my stay and what a lovely place it is.Food was excellent.Room 324 was a bit noisy as there was a wedding function on but it finished early enough for me to drift off around midnight.Will certainly stay again next time i am at the next meeting in Tyseley.

The initial check-in was a little confusing but thereafter 1st class great room top notch place

Great customer service, the reception staff could of been more helpful. Staff very aware of everything that is happening and breakfast in the morning was fantastic.
Great venue and definitely visit again when in the area.

Absolute sh*tshow of a hotel. Arrived after travelling almost 300 miles with my elderly mother to be told they didn’t have my booking & they couldn’t check us in. The most inept unhelpful staff; someone I presume was the owner basically turned her back and left the receptionist to churn out generic lies on why my booking wasn’t on their system. After complaints they eventually said they could offer us one night out of 3?? No point unpacking for 12hours IMO. We had to return home and the weekend was ruined so Thankyou Dovecot! I believe I was collateral damage to an ‘exclusive wedding’ they’d booked in and probably allocated them more rooms to cash in on!! P.S. I woke up the following morn to an email from booking.com stating the hotel has advised them of a ‘no show’ …. so tell me again about the missing booking / missing emails / system errors….ah theres no missing buIIsh*t though eh??? 🤔 Clearly couldn’t run a bath never mind a hotel 😡😡🤬

Two different people booked into this hotel prior to my daughters 40th birthday party on the 20th August 2021. The hotel had a large wedding party and decided to cancel the one booking, but that guest had prior warning. But unbelievably, a party of three travelling from Glasgow were given no warning that their booking had been cancelled and then turned up at the hotel to be told they had no record of their booking! When the guest contacted booking.com to complain, booking.com checked with the hotel and then confirmed the hotel had told them the guests had not turned up. Astonishing! My advice to you is do not use this hotel. Your choice, but you have been warned!
