We stayed at the W Rome in July. We had three rooms for 5 kids and 2 adults. The rooms were fantastic and the entire property was amazing. Definitely a 5 star experience at a 5 star property. The breakfast buffet and menu options were wonderful and the courtyard where breakfast is served is beautiful. Most importantly, the AC in the rooms was high functioning and quiet. The front desk staff and everyone working at the property provided top notch service. The entire experience was amazing and I would stay there again no question. I did a ton of research on Rome hotels and I am so glad we chose the W Rome for our large group. A special shout out to Giussepe, the manager. He checked in on us several times and provided excellent service. Thank you!
The W exceeded our expectations. The hotel is tucked away in a central area, on a quiet neighborhood street, walkable to many attractions. The public spaces, from the cozy breakfast courtyard to the sleek lounge to the rooftop pool, were stunning. Breakfast was a treat every morning - the courtyard was so pretty, and the coffee, buffet and service were memorable. The staff was helpful at every turn, particularly the concierge. I had forgotten how nice it was to have amenities personalized to your liking and staff at the ready to help with any questions, and the W nailed that. The rooms were a great size, well laid out with very comfortable beds, no street noise, large bathrooms with great showers, bathrobes, slippers, and felt like coming home at night. The fitness center is was well set up with lots of cardio and weight machines. Overall, this hotel was a true highlight of our time in Rome and we can’t wait to go back to experience the W’s quiet luxury and hospitality again!
The staff and facilities
The balcony looked a lot bigger on website and unfortunately I didn’t use it because it was very noticeable if you were out there if people were dining downstairs so the next time I stay, I wouldn’t pay the extra to have a Balcony room
Central location and great for walking to most of the sights in central Rome
Room was smaller than anticipated
Great hotel!! Top-level service in every department. The only name I remember is Camilla from the restaurant/lounge area. She was really friendly, welcoming, and open, which I believe is extremely important in hospitality. She definitely made the experience even better!
I'm currently staying here on vacation with my mom, who has mobility challenges and uses both a walker and a wheelchair. We truly appreciate that her accessible room is thoughtfully designed, with plenty of space for her to move around comfortably in her wheelchair.
The service throughout the hotel has been exceptional. Every staff member we've encountered has been warm, professional, and eager to help.
On our first night, we ordered room service, and the food exceeded our expectations. Everything was delicious, and the meatball appetizer was an absolute standout - definitely a must-try!
The hotel's location is also fantastic, making it easy to explore the surrounding area. Overall, we've had a wonderful experience and would gladly stay here again.
I’ve stayed at W Hotels all over the world, including Los Angeles, New York, Barcelona, and several other cities, and this was by far the worst experience I’ve ever had at a W.
I paid over €1,000 per night, so I expected a luxury experience. Unfortunately, that wasn’t what I received.
Every single night, we’d come back from dinner to find our room extremely hot. It felt like the A/C had been turned off or a window had been left open, but neither was the case. The first night, I called the front desk, and they agreed something was wrong and sent maintenance. They spent over 30 minutes working on the A/C in the ceiling after 1:00 AM. That is not how anyone wants to spend their vacation, especially at this price point.
The next day, the hotel moved us to another room. I appreciated the effort, but the exact same issue happened again. That night, I had to call the front desk once more, and maintenance spent nearly an hour trying to repair the A/C in the middle of the night.
As if that wasn’t enough, checkout was another frustrating experience. A staff member came to collect our luggage and took two of our suitcases. I told him to give me one minute because I was zipping up the last bag. He specifically told me, “Please don’t rush, take your time. I’ll wait right here.” I kid you not, less than two minutes later I opened the door and he was gone.
Because my taxi had arrived, I had to carry the remaining luggage downstairs myself. When I got to the lobby, the two suitcases he had already taken were nowhere to be found. I then had to spend additional time asking multiple employees where my luggage was and searching for it myself. At that point, I was completely fed up.
I explained everything to the front desk and expressed how disappointed I was. Their solution was to offer me 20,000 Marriott Bonvoy points. After spending well over €1,000 per night and dealing with multiple nights of A/C issues, maintenance working in my room after 1:00 AM, being moved to another room with the exact same problem, and then having my luggage misplaced during checkout, that gesture felt completely inadequate.
The most disappointing part is not just that there were problems. It’s that every day seemed to bring another issue, and instead of enjoying my vacation, I spent my time dealing with problems that should never happen at a luxury hotel.
I rarely leave negative reviews, but I feel obligated to warn others. If you’re deciding between luxury hotels in Rome, I would strongly recommend staying at The Rome EDITION instead. I stayed there just a few weeks earlier and had an excellent experience. The only reason I booked the W Rome this time was because the EDITION was sold out. Given how great my experiences have been at other W Hotels around the world, I expected the same standard here. Unfortunately, this property fell far short of that expectation.
I genuinely hope someone from senior management reaches out because this experience was unacceptable and fell well below the standards I associate with both the W brand and Marriott. As it stands today, I will never return to this property, and I cannot recommend it to anyone looking for a luxury stay in Rome.
We stayed at W Rome for four nights during our honeymoon, and it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The hotel itself is absolutely beautiful, with a stunning interior design that blends modern luxury with the character and elegance of Rome. From the moment you walk in, the attention to detail is clear — including the incredible fragrance throughout the property, which creates such a memorable atmosphere.
The service truly set this hotel apart. Claudia at check-in was outstanding and immediately made us feel welcomed and valued. She was warm, professional, and thoughtful, helping make the beginning of our honeymoon feel special. The front lobby team was also exceptional throughout our stay — always friendly, attentive, and eager to help with recommendations, directions, and anything we needed.
The rooftop pool was a highlight, especially during the July heat. Having such a beautiful place to relax and cool off after exploring Rome was a huge benefit and made the stay even more enjoyable. The hotel’s central location was also perfect, allowing us to easily walk to many of Rome’s most iconic sights while still returning to a peaceful and luxurious retreat.
Overall, W Rome exceeded our expectations. Between the beautiful design, excellent location, incredible service, and thoughtful touches throughout the property, it was the perfect place to celebrate our honeymoon. We would happily return and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Rome.
What a beautiful hotel! I have only just checked in but blown away by the level of hospitality and professionalism. It is so centrally located and literally has all the great sights of Rome round the corner. There is an in house restaurant with really good food.
The team are so warm, knowledgeable and so happy to help!!!!
Super delighted and looking forward to an exciting few days in Rome!

Tamanho do quarto e do banheiro. A pia era pequena e com pouquíssimo espaço para amenities.
