This is my first time at the hotel and I think it the best one in Franschhoek !! It’s a boutique hotel with everything you need during your trip!! It’s a complete experience!! All the staff are friendly and they are always ready to help you!!

Exceptional!
Pros:

This is a totally exceptional place. It is far from only an hotel. The entire estate caters for all activities for a family with the friendliest staff! They are constantly wanting to spoil and assist and please! Ludus Magnus is like a 5* family resort hotel!

It was lovely. Loved the grounds, the restaurant, the field and the fruits.
Pros:

The service and facilities were amazing.
There is great attention to detail and the atmosphere is calm. I would highly recommend the place for any sports teams that would like to rest and recuperate or prepare for an event.

Cons:

Access can be hard during the rainy season but the staff can help with navigating through the roads to get to the hotel.
Would have loved to use the warm pools but it takes a while to warm up.

From the moment I arrived, I was captivated by the breathtaking beauty of the estate. Surrounded by vineyards, orchards, and the majestic Franschhoek mountains, the setting is like something out of a dream. It’s peaceful, private, and feels like your own little piece of paradise.

The accommodation was flawless—elegant, spacious, and impeccably clean. Every detail, from the decor to the amenities, was thoughtfully curated to create a sense of comfort and luxury. Waking up to those views each morning was something I’ll never forget.

What truly made my stay exceptional was the staff. Warm, welcoming, and attentive without ever being intrusive, they went out of their way to make me feel at home. Every interaction was genuine, and their local knowledge and recommendations added so much value to my time in Franschhoek.

Ludus Magnus is a true gem—an eco-conscious sanctuary where luxury and nature blend seamlessly. I only wish I could have stayed longer. I will definitely be back and would recommend it to anyone looking for a serene, top-tier escape in the heart of wine country.
