We held an open house in the community room and it was perfect! The staff were communicative, responsive and very helpful. The space is beautiful and perfect for 30 people. It's right across from Spyhouse Coffee with bathrooms nearby. Highly recommend having any business meetings there or events for up to 30 people.
The staff were above and beyond. Especially the front desk staff, Geoff. The sales management team were very easy to work with. The atmosphere is very homey. The rooms are very spacious. The location of this hotel is perfect. We had such a great experience. Highly recommend.
Very clean, very safe and comfortable
No free parking. Motel guest should never have to pay for parking. Many are i. The area to visit patients at Mayo and should not be subjected to additional cost
Location, shuttle, breakfast
Superb staff. Only issue was that ongoing construction made arrival to Mayo a bit longer
All good
Location to Mayo clinic. Clean, well appointed. Comfortable.
Chase at check in is an absolute asset. The hotel was booked full the night of 5/2. There were not enough parking spaces in the ramp and with all of the construction on street parking is limited at best. Chase offered his personal parking spot and helped save the day for us! He took the initiative to solve the problem. THANK YOU!
Free breakfast, staff was friendly
We received wrong hotel room, we are supposed to have sofa bed, there was none. Went to get a cot they were out, gave us bedding to sleep on the floor. I was charged for parking, we didn’t park in their parking ramp due to no space. No pool.
Location was perfect for us as we had an event within walking distance. The hotel is beautiful and very clean. The rooms are very spacious!
The check-in process was tough with how you have to park in such a cramped area along with other cars trying to get in and out. The view was a construction site but I don’t care about that as I am all for progress and Rochester is a beauty city. This was my first visit.
The only issue is the noise due to the construction next door and the fact that you can't use the usual direct path to the Mayo Clinic, which the hotel has no control over.
This was one of the best hotels that I have ever stayed at. All of the staff were very friendly and very helpful. The rooms were amazing and comforting. The building was in great shape and very clean with a great breakfast selection. Pricing was also very reasonable. Hotel is close to Mayo Clinic with a great shuttle system. Was an overall pretty quiet area even with all of the construction going on. Was a great atmosphere to be in. Overall great experience and will be using them in the future!
This Marriott property in Rochester, MN., is the best in the city! The perks are the following:
* It’s the closest Marriott Property to the Mayo Clinic.
* The shuttle drivers, Dan and Paul, go above and beyond to help guests/patients, in countless ways. Plus, their knowledge of Rochester/Mayo history is phenomenal.
* You won’t be disappointed in their free breakfast every morning. Great selections of both hot and cold items.
Having stayed at this property off and on since 2022, it’s never been disappointing. Thank you.
We either stay here or the main Marriott connected to the subway. When weather is ok we stay at this hotel and have been pleased. The hotel is clean, rooms are spacious and staff is excellent. Rooms feel new and a main advantage over the Marriott is climate control. The Marriott is either heating or cooling and on unseasonably mild days before the switch is made you can swelter at the Marriott. We speak from experience! That is a huge advantage of staying at Townplace in my opinion.
The breakfast offerings are excellent and Spyglass Coffee is excellent as well. Gym facilities are good with 3 treadmills and 2 elliptical machines plus free weights. We made sure to eat other meals before returning to our room as there are no dining options around. Highly recommend Chester’s.
The main downside to this excellent hotel right now is the construction. It will be going on until 2030. You can walk but must go out the back and around through scaffolding walkways almost the entire trip to Mayo Clinic. Minor construction noise throughout our stay.
Our early morning shuttle was the only down side to our trip. We had signed up for 7:15 am shuttle for labs at 8 am and when we arrived at 7:13 the shuttle had already left because it was full per the very nice front desk clerk. She said he would take us when he got back shortly. I don’t see a point in signing up for a shuttle. We knew there were 12 seats and we were numbers 11 and 12 having signed up the night before. The driver argued with us upon his return that we were not there at 7:15 and we absolutely were. He said he could take us at 7:45 (this was at 7:25) which was too late for us. So we started walking. He stopped us and said he would go ahead and take us but said “I was afraid of this” when he encountered traffic. We arrived at the Mayo Clinic entrance at 7:33. Made us feel like we were putting him out for a shuttle we had signed up for and had been on time for. We were baffled. So maybe continuous shuttles during that morning rush would eliminate these situations? We did not want a ride back to the hotel with this driver so opted to walk back. If you want an early morning shuttle, be there 15 minutes before the time you sign up for at the front desk. The other drivers we had were all very nice.
Overall, a great hotel. Very modern . Would definitely stay here again.
Nicki and the team at the Townplace have been great to work with. The facility is top notch, great amenities!
I have stayed there many times for work - great room and staff. Walking distance to downtown.
We liked the: room size, cleanliness, friendly staff, location, tasteful breakfast, underground parking, hotel shuttle and the ambiance.
Nothing
Great staff. We always stay here for girls weekend.
Construction, but that is beyond the hotels control. Parking two cars would be nice for the four of us but it's a little pricey.
