I just had to write about this amazing place. I stayed here with friends from London but we met up with friiends from Sibiu, It is in very picturesque grounds and the food has a lovely Romanian twist. What blessed me more than anything was the politeness and professionalism of the staff. The waiters were very polite. Also, I was out in the grounds and a young guy with short hair and a beard was picking up leaves and making the grounds look really tidy. I don't know his name but he was a credit to the hotel because he was polite and helpful. I will definitely come to this place again.

I had a wonderful experience at this restaurant. The ambiance was warm, inviting, and beautifully decorated, creating the perfect setting for a relaxed evening. The lighting and music added to the cozy yet elegant vibe.

The service was truly exceptional. Our waitress was attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable, making sure we had everything we needed without being intrusive. She offered great recommendations and made us feel genuinely welcomed.

A perfect place to enjoy a great meal with a fantastic atmosphere. Highly recommended!

The air conditioning is not working. My room is 24-25°C. They moved me to another room, but it was even hotter there, 25-26°C, and the air conditioning still didn’t work. A friend is in the same situation. It’s too hot for me, and I can’t sleep at night.

Very nice hotel, wonderful spa, breakfast was good with a lot of options. The only complaint is that our room had a smell that was either sewage or rotten cabbage. Apparently was the only room with this issue. Told the front about it and they said they did something but the room still had a smell to it. Still a nice room and view though.

Spa: Jacuzzi not operational, Pool not maintained as it should be, 3 Tiled sauna rooms (temperatures 50, 75, 100) and a Scandinavian wooden sauna, sadly salt therapy not operational as well.

Hotel: We changed rooms as the first one had a smell emanating from the bathroom that was nauseating. Second room smelled aswell however it was bearable.

Breakfast: Good, better go early as the food is mostly uncovered and exposed, like tomatoes, eggplant sauce, cheese etc

Restaurant: Unremarkable, rather expensive (example, most expensive burger in town) and slow service

Due to a technical issue there was a risk that could ruin our trip, but the hotel staff went above and beyond to fix it and make our stay as good as possible. This is the best customer service I’ve seen in any Romanian hotel, congrats! The hotel is nice and clean, while the spa has everything you need.

Cel mai bun hotel, camerele superbe cu o priveliște uimitoare. Staff ul a fost foarte ospitalier și s-a ocupat de fiecare nevoie, mâncarea mi-a depășit așteptarile ! 🙂

The rooms are very spacious the control panel in the room was one of the best I have seen !!
It is very modern you can adjust the room temperature, bathroom light and call the reception with a touch on the screen!!

Nice hotel, door keycard didn't work but solved with a good old fashioned key. Staff were very nice, the restaurant is excellent. Hotel has been recently renovated, so its like new. Parking was difficult.

In fact, I had a reservation, but I refused to stay at the hotel due to the conditions and the rudeness of the staff (who were probably following the owner's instructions). The German-named hotel, a rip-off, was pretty much like the one I got with Johannis. You check in, go to your room, and find that it's very hot. You fiddle with the high-tech AC control system on a tablet embedded in the wall, only to discover that it's already set to the minimum temperature with the ventilation at maximum, yet it still displays 27 degrees in the room.

You take off your shoes and sit by the ventilation grille, noticing a slight breeze (and I'm not exaggerating, just a slight breeze) that probably aims for 25-26 degrees. I've spent several years cumulatively in hotels, so I know their tricks. I open TripAdvisor and search for reviews, and of course, all the ones from the summer period complain about the lack of AC.

I go down to the reception and ask the lady there if they have any rooms where the AC works and if they won't shuffle me from room to room as they did with other tourists who had written about this "strategy," probably devised by the rude owner. The lady assures me that she will solve my problem: two more rooms and luggage tours through the hotel, only to find out that it was exactly as I suspected: no room could provide a decent temperature. The lowest was 26 degrees with the AC running at maximum for 5 hours (in a colleague's room who had arrived earlier).

I don't understand two things:

How does a place like this get a 4-star rating? Probably the same way gas stations between buildings do.
What kind of owner is so rude and stingy that they won't solve the problem and won't instruct their staff to try to fool the customer by shuffling them from room to room, even though they have reviews from 2022 pointing out the issue?
PS: I mustn't forget two more aspects: brown wooden doors in a design with white and gray in the rooms; it's as if a blind person thought of the color combination. The parking lot might be enough for 10% of the rooms, and the reception lady encourages you to park at the nearby Mega Image supermarket where the parking spaces are marked as for the store's customers. When you ask if that's not a problem, you're told to put your car in a less noticeable spot in the back; otherwise, the store staff might notice and come to "complain" about it. This is Romanian tourism (even with a German name) in the "land of well-done things."

New, modern, smart decor, overall a comfortable and agreable place to stay over the weekend in Sibiu. Not a central location, but easily accessible by bus or taxi.
The parking, though, is insufficient and only comfortable for rather small cars.
The biggest drawback, however, is the bar/ restaurant service! In case they're busy with any event bigger than 10 persons, you can't get any type of attention from the staff! Or, even more annoying, some of the young bar waitresses may also pretend that the only could count an insufficient amount for the bill you just paid - certainly in full, as witnessed by several of our group members! Really bothering and unprofessional, to say the least! And it easily ruin the overall good impression that the hotel made on us!

This is a nice modern hotel with a tremendous spa attached. The staff was very friendly, helpful and efficient. We had a massage in the spa area which was great and the spa had a nice pool area and lots of great features. Breakfast was provided which was good.

The AC did not work, asked to be fixed several times. They said you can hear it working, yes fan working but not cooling.
Only paper cups, no glasses in the room. No coffee/tea facilities

Very small rooms
One 300ml complimentary water for 2 people.
Very small bathroom
Would not recommend.

This hotel is amazing! It has a very big range of meals (at the restaurant) and very clean rooms. The rooms are practical and everything is easy to use. The rooms are also equipped with very high-tech screens which act as remotes for the lights, A/C, Room-Service, etc. The staff there is very nice, friendly and helpful.

I was pleased by the professionalism, cosy atmosphere, passion for the job. The ultra-modern improvements are a plus.
Score 10 for the kitchen, the food was delicious.
I recommend Hermanns Hotel & Spa - Sibiu to everyone.

What seemed like an AMAZING booking, quickly turned into a disaster.

First off, there are only 15 parking spaces for the entire hotel.

The hotel currently has an event going on in the hotel which means it’s crowded and very loud. After a long day of sightseeing, we thought we could enjoy a nice quiet dinner and head in to the spa for a relaxing evening. Due to the event in the hotel, the restaurant is closed and you need a reservation to even use the pool.

So now we are tired, hungry, and getting more upset by the minute.

The only upside is the property is beautiful. The room is immaculate but suddenly these things don’t matter when you have nowhere to park your car, can’t eat in the hotel restaurant or relax in the sauna or pool.

Will never stay here again.

The place is very nice and comfy, tidy and clean, it looks just as a 4* hotel should look like. The staff is very welcoming and the restaurant is very good and the food is excellent and served very quickly.
Unfortunately, the 3/5 review is well deserved because the cleaning service is not intended for such a hotel. In a 5 day stay, we did not get any room cleaning service, no clean towels or toiletries. Even if we did set the control tablet of the room with room cleaning request and we also made a decent and civilisated complaint to the reception, nothing changed. We had to buy some toiletries from the next door market.
Other then this, our stay was great, the food was excellent and tasty and the service in the restaurant was also very nice.
As a recommendation: avoid the crowded periods (such as Christmas, New Years Eve or other holidays) because the restaurant gets to be overcrowded for the breakfast (which is a bit poor for such a hotel and the staff seams to forget to do refill) in the morning and you probably would have to stay in a que to get a table or sit at somebody else's table.

Pros:
Very nice hotel, the location is very close to the city center. It also has a lot of facilities nearby (pharmacies, grocery stores).
Staff is very proactive and nice, they have helped us with all our requests.
The rooms are very nicely decorated and comfortable.
It also has the best breakfast that we had anywhere in Romania. Many delicious choices.
Cons:
The heating/cooling system does not always work well, but they gave us other room and it was okay.

Been there already twice this year and i love it. Not far away from the city center, quiet area and lovely staff. The Guy from front desk was ok, but you can’t conpare him with the 2 gentlemen from the early breakfast. I had an meeting at 7 am and they let me make a sandwich and grab an coffe at 6.30. They made my day. See you next time, deserve all the money.
