This hotel will give the likes of Sheraton a run for their money. This, should really be a Five Star Hotel. The complimentary breakfast is a combination of the likes of Nigerian and Western delicacies. I enjoyed the 10th floor roof top restaurant the best. There you can catch a view of almost the entire Ikeja in the horizon. There's a roof top swimming pool that's lighted at night. There's another world class restaurant on the groud floor. My favorite on the menu is their Penne Chicken Alfredo which is also available on the complimentary breakfast buffet. The rooms are very clean and beds are quite comfortable. I haven't stayed in their standard rooms but I will recommend their executive rooms and junior suites without any reservation. Though I have always booked and paid in USD, I think prices are pretty below market value for Lagos.
Breaking
Look exactly how it is on the internet
Must stay at the Colossus was awesome!
I especially liked the customer service we received when we dined in the restaurant. The servers, waitresses and staff were very professional and super helpful.
The bed was very comfortable and Internet access was great!
One thing that I would change is the fact that upon arrival we were told that breakfast was for one person only. Even though the reservation was for two adults this was what we were told. I believe that this is a rule that needs to be changed because upon reserving this room there was nowhere in the policy that states that breakfast would only be served to one person only.
As a common courtesy to their patrons, The Colossus, should take pride in making sure that each and everyone of their guest is at least served free breakfast in the morning.
This is one of the best hotels I've stayed in, especially in Lagos Nigeria. It is very comparable to the Westin, Marriott or the Sheraton but for greater value for less money. You have two choices of restaurants to choose from and dynamic food choices that won't break the bank.
Looks a bit dated, but it was a nice and warm place. Clean facilities.
Really warm and amazing staff. Hannah at the front desk stands out. She Helped with making transport arrangements, and telling me a bit about the area. The breakfast spread on the rooftop was really great.
There was a brief issue of safety concerns during my stay, but the duty manager and his team handled it expertly, impressively and amicably. They were very professional.
I’ll definitely be back.
If recommend them for short stays in lagos.
The Standard room that I booked for 2 people was lovely and clean.
The issues I had were:
- I booked for a reservation of a standard room for 2 guests with breakfast included twice over so for 4 people in total. 2 in each room). However during my check in process, I was informed that it’ll be for 1 person for the breakfast only in each room when the reservation was for 2 guests in 2 rooms. They charged me #20,000 for each person (#40,000 each for 4 night stay). How can The Colossus Lagos management believe that this process is right? This was a mis-selling, very misleading and deceitful service. It would’ve been nice if this was specified on the ad for this hotel in Expedia though so that the guest will be prepared but it was not. Anyway please be mindful of this when booking this hotel.
Nice hotel. New fresh rooms. Would pick over Sheraton everyday.
Super
The Colossus hotel, Lagos, very clean and spacious rooms ( we occupied 3 rooms . each of same standard), comfortable beds; good shower an clean towels. Had rooftop pub and swimming pool, which looked well maintained.
Wide selection of breakfast menu
Staff were helpful and cheerful.
It was okay.
Almost new facilities but Staff attitude was very poor. Highly inflexible to guests and generally poor reception. Mold in the bathroom, shower pressure near zero with water running in trickles. Cannot in good conscience recommend to anyone.
The only good thing was its close to the airport. Its hot. Restaurant upstairs only opens till 10pm every night. Not centralized aircon.
Clean, staff are very respectful and professional. Pool clean and the roof top bar was my best spot because we could see the surrounding cities. Breakfast buffet perfect
Good.
Well maintained
Would definitely recommend this hotel!
Close to all amenities. The staff were all friendly and accommodating. Loved the clean airy room. Good breakfast selection. I would definitely return there.
Nothing. everything has to be paid for. drinking water, practically everything has a price. the only thing the fee of over a $100 is the bed. most European and Caribean Holiday destinations charges less and comes with a complimentary breakfast, toiletries and decency. the night club upstairs played all night with loud music. dinner was almost seven thousand naira, only to discover drinking water was not inclusive. billed me a fee of five hundred delivering dinner to room. gave a thousand naira. the delivery guy never came back with my five hundred naira change. for a fee of almost 80,000 naira per night, i expected more.
